In this role, you will be a key player in supporting the Stock Prep & Recycled Fiber – Screen & Hydrocyclone business at Valmet. This role focuses on providing service and technical support to customers using Valmet-supplied parts and systems, while also promoting the Screen & Hydrocyclone product lines. The Process Engineer will optimize system performance by conducting mill audits and inspections, recommending adjustments to operating parameters, and identifying upgrade opportunities—all while ensuring customer satisfaction and collaborating closely with the Valmet Mill Team.

 

Customer Engagement & Support

  • Support the Stock Preparation & Recycled Fiber – Screen & Hydrocyclone Business through service and technical support
  • Assist customers using Valmet-supplied parts and systems
  • Promote the Screen & Hydrocyclone product lines
  • Conduct mill audits to optimize system efficiency
  • Suggest adjustments to operating parameters and recommend upgrades
  • Generate comprehensive service reports for mills
  • Propose part replacements or upgrades as needed
  • Ensure customer satisfaction through appropriate follow-up

Sales & Opportunity Development

  • Drive sales of aftermarket spare parts by aligning solutions with customer goals
  • Prepare accurate and timely quotations that reflect customer requirements and pricing strategies
  • Use business systems to analyze customer usage, monitor trends, and inform sales strategies

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Collaborate with the Valmet Mill Team, including Product Sales Managers and other team members
  • Monitor competitor activity and market trends to keep offerings competitive and relevant
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by sharing customer feedback and process insights

 

What you’ll need:

  • Certified 4-year College or University Degree preferred
  • 1 to 3 years of field experience in the pulp and paper industry
  • Strong communication, relationship-building, and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient in Excel and business intelligence tools; technical aptitude is a plus
  • Comfortable working in fast-paced environments and managing multiple priorities
  • Willingness to travel domestically (60-80%) and occasionally internationally (Canada)
