Title: Principal Sales Engineer

Location: England/UK, Virtual

Summary 

The primary responsibility of this consultancy position is to facilitate the ability to offer Store Transformation through use of: Discovery, Business Impact Assessments and Solution Operationalization including inventory protection. The area of retail focus is predominantly within store customer and transactional services, although past experience within payment inventory management and store pricing would be an advantage.  A significant part of the role will be the facilitation of stakeholder engagement to support awareness and adoption of proposed transformation change.  

Experience Requirements:

• Experience within the Retail Industry, consultant specializing within all facets of store customer and transactional services
• Retail marketplace knowledge and associated relationship network
• Knowledge of European and Global retail marketplace
• Knowledge of e-commerce and how these interconnect within the store
• Current and emerging in-store technology – their impacts, critical success factors and benefits
• Strong leadership skills
• Data analytics experience
• Use of AI and how businesses can use this to accelerate transformation
• Strong experience with use in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint
• Excellent communication skills both orally and written
• Very good business English both orally and written 

 
 Business Analysis :

• Analysis of present business processes
• Review of focus area of retailer business strategies
• Review of key competitive activity for target retailer
• Review of competitive solutions and their positioning in the marketplace
• Opportunity assessment for target solution/s
• Workshop facilitation involving multiple stakeholders
• Development of business process plan to utilise target solution/s, including migration steps if applicable
• Identification of key benefits to retailer
• Identification of integration processes and step changes
• Presentation of findings and recommendations to retailers’ senior management 

Business Impact Assessments:

• Scope of assessment approach
• Utilisation of NCR Voyix tools and methodologies
• Consultancy and recommendations of best practice solution utilisation
• Business process analysis and recommended areas of change for integration
• Use of AI to further facilitate both change and assessment delivery
• Payback and solution benefit analysis
• Development and monitoring of agreed outcome based KPI’s
• Preparation of assessment reports including areas of recommendation
• Presentation of report findings to senior and c-level management. 

Business Solution Operational Integration:

• Utilisation of NCR tools and methodologies
• Development of operational deployment blueprint
• Consultancy skills on blueprint functional areas including recommendations
• Change management deployment recommendations
• Development including measurements of critical success factors
• Consultancy and recommendations of solution best practices 

Internal Sales Support:

• Input into sales strategy process
• Development of high-level solution business justifications and business cases
• Adhoc training of sales, product and service resources
• Assistance with solution sales process including participation in sales presentation with target customers
• Input into market requirements for solution portfolio
• Input and attendance to trade shows
• Attendance and representation at key retail forums
• Utilisation of industry expertise to promote strategic positioning of solutions 

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree preferred
• 4-5 years’ experience in retail transformational delivery and or pre-sales / customer facing / technical roles
• Solid track record of transformation delivery
• Understanding of retail Software Solutions with added focus on microservices and cloud
• Optional customer-facing experience selling software, hardware and services
• Excellent oral, written communication and presentation skills
• Strong English written and verbal communication skills
