Position Summary
The Principal Business Advisor is a senior sales leadership and strategic advisory role responsible for managing high-value opportunities, mentoring Business Advisors, supporting revenue strategy, and helping BlueprintIQ build a scalable business advisory sales function.
This role combines senior-level consultative sales, client relationship leadership, pipeline oversight, team development, and strategic account management. The Principal Business Advisor is expected to lead by example, close complex opportunities, support junior and core sales roles, and help ensure BlueprintIQ’s sales process remains disciplined, professional, and aligned with the company’s advisory model.
The Principal Business Advisor should be able to engage business owners, executives, department leaders, partners, and vendors with confidence, clarity, and strategic judgment.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Sales Leadership
· Manage complex, high-value, or strategic sales opportunities.
· Lead discovery and advisory conversations with executive-level prospects and clients.
· Support solution strategy for larger or more complex client needs.
· Help position BlueprintIQ’s services, partner solutions, and advisory capabilities in a clear and compelling manner.
· Assist with pricing strategy, proposal review, deal structure, and negotiation.
Team Mentorship and Sales Development
· Mentor Business Advisors and Business Development Advisors.
· Provide coaching on prospecting, discovery, objection handling, CRM discipline, follow-up, and proposal strategy.
· Support onboarding and training of new sales team members.
· Help reinforce BlueprintIQ’s sales standards, communication expectations, and advisory positioning.
· Participate in sales meetings, pipeline reviews, and performance coaching.
Pipeline and Revenue Oversight
· Maintain personal revenue production through assigned accounts, strategic opportunities, and self-generated business.
· Review pipeline quality and opportunity progression with sales team members.
· Identify stalled deals, weak qualifications, missing follow-up, or proposal risks.
· Support forecasting, revenue planning, and sales performance reporting.
· Help leadership evaluate sales activity, conversion rates, pipeline health, and revenue trends.
Strategic Account and Partner Relationship Management
· Build and maintain relationships with key clients, referral partners, vendors, and strategic business contacts.
· Support account expansion, renewals, upsells, cross-sells, and long-term client engagement.
· Serve as an escalation point for complex sales conversations or client concerns.
· Collaborate with leadership and delivery teams to ensure client expectations are realistic and aligned before handoff.
Compensation Structure
This is a commission and bonus-eligible position. Compensation may include commissions, residuals, override commissions, leadership bonuses, performance bonuses, referral incentives, partner/vendor commissions, and other sales-related earnings, as determined by company policy.
Commission and bonus payments are subject to BlueprintIQ’s current sales compensation plan, eligibility requirements, client payment status, deal assignment rules, split-deal rules, override eligibility, margin requirements, and applicable clawback provisions.
Ideal Candidate Profile
The ideal Principal Business Advisor is a senior producer and builder. This person can close business, coach others, protect the brand, improve the process, and help BlueprintIQ scale without turning sales into chaos with a CRM login.
Career Path
This role may lead to Director of Business Advisory, Vice President of Sales, Chief Revenue Officer, Strategic Partnerships Lead, or another executive-level growth leadership position as BlueprintIQ expands.
