Policy and Project Officer

• Ongoing role - Full Time, 35 hours per week
• Location: Willing to consider candidates across all NSW locations. Preference will be given to candidates based regionally, with a focus on Queanbeyan, Armidale, Dubbo and Coffs Harbour
• Clerk Grade 7/8– Salary from $113,574 up to $125,720 per annum (FTE) plus super and leave loading

About the Role
Join the Strategy and Regulatory Policy team at DPIRD and play a key role in shaping the future of NSW agriculture and biosecurity. This role is all about proactive collaboration; you will engage with stakeholders across government, industry and community organisations to support strategic projects and governance forums that underpin improvements to NSW’s biosecurity framework – including the newly established State Biosecurity Committee and its subcommittees. Using your project management and analytical skills, you will manage competing priorities to deliver a range of briefing and project materials that directly inform executive and Ministerial decision-making. If you are an organised and adaptable relationship-builder looking to make a real impact, we want to hear from you. 

About You
As our ideal candidate, you will have:

• Build strong collaborative relationships across government and industry. 
• Plan, coordinate, and control project deliverables effectively. 
• Manage competing priorities and adjust proactively to change. 
• Research and analyse data to inform effective decision-making. 
• Communicate clearly to prepare high-quality briefs and reports.
• Ability and willingness to travel occasionally for work purposes, where required.
