Point of Sale Specialist

Position:

We are seeking a highly motivated and technically savvy Point of Sale Specialist (POS Guru) to become the company's go-to expert on POS systems, integrations, merchant services, and payment technology. 

This role exists to support our sales organization and ensure merchants are successfully onboarded, activated, and supported. The ideal candidate is obsessed with learning POS technology, understands the nuances of multiple industry-specific systems, and takes ownership of becoming the internal authority on how POS platforms integrate with payment processing solutions. 

In this role, your #1 priority is supporting our sales professionals in the field. You will help identify POS compatibility, solve integration challenges, assist with merchant onboarding, and provide expert guidance throughout the sales and implementation process.

Responsibilities:

Sales Support (Primary Responsibility):

• Serve as the primary POS and merchant services subject matter expert for the sales team. 
• Assist sales representatives in evaluating POS compatibility and integration opportunities.
• Provide pre-sale technical consultations and recommendations.
• Help sales professionals navigate complex merchant environments and identify the best payment solutions. 
• Research new POS systems, integrations, and industry trends to help drive sales success. 
• Create and maintain a knowledge base of supported POS systems, integrations, common issues, and best practices. 
• Act as the technical bridge between sales, implementation, support, and processing partners. 

Merchant Onboarding & Activations: 

• Support merchant onboarding, setup, and activation processes.
• Assist with payment gateway configurations and POS integrations.
• Coordinate implementation activities to ensure smooth deployments. 
• Troubleshoot installation and activation issues. 
• Ensure merchants are properly configured and processing transactions successfully.

Technical Support & Troubleshooting

• Serve as an escalation resource for customer support and operations teams.
• Troubleshoot payment processing, terminal, gateway, and POS integration issues. 
• Assist customer support representatives with advanced technical challenges.
• Work directly with POS vendors, processors, gateways, and third-party technology partners when necssary. 
• Document troubleshooting steps, resolutions, and technical findings. 

Continuous Learning & Research

• Become an expert across multiple POS ecosystems including retail, restaurant, hospitality, service, and speciality software platforms.
• Stay current on emerging POS technologies, integrations, payment trends, and merchant services solutions. 
• Research unfamiliar systems and develop internal resources that benefit the entire organization. 
• Test new products, software, and integrations as needed.
  

Skills:

Skills: 

• Minimum 2+ years of experience in Merchant Services/Payment Processing, Point of Sale Support/Technical support, Implementation, etc. 
• Experience supporting or integrating POS systems.
• Strong understanding of payment processing and merchant services. 
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities. 
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously. 
• Strong communication skills and ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Comfortable working independently in a remote environment. 
• Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies quickly. 
• Experience working with restaurant, retail, hospitality, healthcare, or service-industry POS systems preferred.
• Familiarity with integrated payments, gateways, APIs, and payment technologies preferred.
• Knowledge of EMV, contactless payments, PCI compliance, and payment security standards preferred. 
• Experience supporting software integrations and payment devices preferred. 
• Previous experience in merchant services sales support preferred.
• Bilingual preferred.
  
  

Required Education/Experience: 

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in the merchant services industry is required
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a technical/customer support role is required

Compensation:

The pay range for this position is $26.00 to $30.00 per hour, depending on experience
