Job Summary

The role of the Planting and Seeding Product Specialist is to develop a highly capable and confident dealer network by delivering hands-on training, technical support, and sales enablement. This role will work closely with Regional Leadership and Territory Managers to ensure dealers can successfully sell, install, set up, fine-tune, and troubleshoot our products. This position is fast paced, field based and combines technical expertise with dealer development and customer success.


Duties/Responsibilities of Planting and Seeding Product Specialist

Dealer Training & Development

  • Deliver in-person and virtual training across planting and seeding product lines.
  • Build dealer capability in:
    • Product sales and positioning.
    • Installation and setup.
    • Diagnostics and troubleshooting.
  • Lead group sessions and hands-on field training to strengthen dealer confidence.

Sales Support

  • Partner with Territory Managers and Regional Leadership to support the sales process.
  • Assist with product demonstrations, dealer calls, and customer engagement.
  • Reinforce a structured, confident sales approach across the dealer network. ​

Technical & Field Support

  • Provide hands-on support during installation, startup, and in-field operation.
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues and coach dealers toward independent problem solving. ​

 

Dealer Network Development

  • Strengthen SurePoint’s dealer network by building technical expertise and self-sufficiency.​
  • Identify training gaps and implement targeted improvement plans.

 

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with:
    • Western Regional Manager
    • Territory Managers
    • Dealer Support Specialists
    • Product and Engineering teams ​
    • Inside Sales and Support

Provide feedback to improve products, training programs, and customer experience.

 

Qualifications & Experience

  • Experience with row crop planters, seeding equipment, or precision ag technology.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.​
  • Proven ability to train and communicate technical concepts effectively.
  • Hands-on troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently in a high-travel role.
  • Experience working with dealer networks or ag retail environments preferred.
  • This remote position requires the candidate to live in the Western Region with reasonable airport access. Eligible states include ND, SD, MN, WI, NE, KS, OK, TX, NM, CO, WY, MT, ID, UT, NV, AZ, CA, OR, and WA.


Supervisory Responsibilities

This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.


Travel

Anticipated travel for this position will be 60-75% and extend across the Western U.S and Canada. This includes frequent overnight travel.  Seasonal peaks will be expected during planting preparation and field support periods.


Expenses

The employee will be issued a company credit card to use for all travel and other expenses incurred while executing the duties of the position.  You will complete an expense report and return in a timely manner.


Vehicle

The employee will be issued a company vehicle for all business travel.


Other Duties

The position will have other duties not specifically defined above that are essential for the overall success of SurePoint Ag.

 

Being a member of the SurePoint Ag Team

In addition to the specific duties detailed above, you are expected to provide support and assistance in achieving the overall goals and objectives of SurePoint Ag through collaboration, teamwork and communication.
