We are seeking an experienced Bilingual (English/Spanish) Plaintiff Personal Injury Reductions & Closing Specialist to join our growing remote team. This role is responsible for independently managing the final stage of plaintiff personal injury cases by negotiating medical balances, preparing settlement documentation, maximizing client recoveries, and delivering an exceptional client experience.

Job Description

The Reductions & Closing Specialist serves as the final point of contact before settlement disbursement and plays a critical role in maximizing the client's net recovery.

This position requires someone who has personally managed the reductions process from assignment through settlement completion, including negotiating hospital and provider balances, coordinating settlement documentation, maintaining proactive client communication, and ensuring cases move efficiently toward closing.

Success in this role requires strong negotiation skills, urgency, accountability, organization, and the ability to thrive in a high-volume environment.

What You'll Do

Reductions & Negotiations

  • Independently manage the reductions process from assignment through settlement completion.
  • Negotiate hospital liens, hospital bills, medical provider balances, and other medical expenses to maximize client recoveries.
  • Verify PIP benefits, insurance coverage, and provider balances.
  • Apply effective negotiation strategies to increase clients' net settlement proceeds.
  • Monitor reductions and proactively resolve delays.

Settlement Closings

  • Prepare and/or review settlement statements and closing documentation.
  • Verify settlement calculations and disbursement accuracy.
  • Coordinate final settlement documentation.
  • Ensure files are complete before disbursement.

Case Management

  • Maintain accurate case documentation in Litify.
  • Request and organize medical records and billing statements.
  • Communicate with insurance companies, providers, and lienholders.
  • Track workflow and maintain timely case progression.

Client Service

  • Contact clients upon assignment.
  • Explain the reductions and settlement process.
  • Provide proactive client updates at least every two weeks.
  • Respond promptly to client questions.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service throughout the closing process.

Administrative Responsibilities

Additional duties may include:

  • Answering and routing incoming calls.
  • Uploading documentation.
  • Logging communications.
  • Following up with medical providers.
  • Supporting additional case-related tasks as assigned.

Performance Expectations

Success in this role will be measured by the ability to:

  • Independently manage a high-volume reductions caseload.
  • Successfully negotiate hospital and provider reductions.
  • Maximize client recoveries.
  • Meet departmental KPIs and production expectations.
  • Maintain accurate settlement documentation.
  • Keep cases progressing efficiently toward disbursement.
  • Deliver exceptional client communication.
  • Demonstrate accountability, urgency, and ownership.
  • Maintain high productivity while meeting quality standards.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of recent experience as a Plaintiff Personal Injury Reductions Specialist, Closing Specialist, Settlement Specialist, or similar role within a Plaintiff Personal Injury law firm.
  • Fluent in English and Spanish (written and verbal).
  • Experience independently negotiating:
    • Hospital liens
    • Hospital bills
    • Medical provider balances
    • Medical bills
  • Experience managing the complete reductions lifecycle from assignment through settlement.
  • Experience preparing or reviewing settlement statements.
  • Experience coordinating settlement disbursements.
  • Experience communicating with clients, providers, insurance carriers, and lienholders.
  • Experience working in a KPI-driven, high-volume environment.
  • Excellent negotiation, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience using Litify.
  • Experience using Salesforce.
  • Experience working remotely for a U.S. Plaintiff Personal Injury law firm.
  • Experience meeting production and quality KPIs.
  • Experience preparing weekly production reports or projections.

Work Schedule

  • Full-time (40 hours per week)
  • Two scheduled days off each week.
  • One weekend day may be required based on business needs.
  • Overtime may be required.

  • Webcam for daily meetings.
