The Personal Operations Assistant will manage various projects, vendor relationships, and logistical tasks to support the owner. Responsibilities include researching solutions, coordinating repairs, handling service issues, and ensuring all assigned tasks are completed efficiently.
Description
Steel City represents more than just a location on the map, it’s the story of the American Dream, to build something that you’re proud of. We all have a story, we all love our family, our hometown and our sports teams. It’s what connects us and binds us together. It’s our mission to tell those stories through our clothing.
We're looking for a part-time Personal Operations Assistant who is extremely resourceful, organized, and loves figuring things
out and getting things done.
This is not a traditional Executive Assistant role. You won’t spend your day managing a calendar, sitting in meetings, or organizing an inbox. Instead, you’ll be handed problems, projects, and loose ends — and own them through completion. One day that might mean finding and vetting a contractor for a property. Another might be researching a vendor, getting three quotes, handling a return, resolving an issue with a service provider, scheduling a repair, researching options for a purchase, or following up on something that’s been sitting unfinished. The goal is simple: take things off the owner’s plate and close the loop.
What You’ll Do
• Research and vet vendors, contractors, products, services, and solutions
• Contact vendors, request quotes, compare options, and make recommendations
• Follow up persistently until projects are completed
• Schedule and coordinate appointments, repairs, deliveries, and services
• Handle returns, warranties, order issues, and customer-service problems
• Research solutions to personal and business problems
• Coordinate occasional household and property projects
• Assist with travel, reservations, purchases, and other personal logistics
• Help with miscellaneous business projects and vendor coordination
• Maintain a simple running list of open projects and make sure nothing falls through the cracks
Requirements
Who We’re Looking For
You’re someone who hears: “I need to get this taken care of”…and immediately starts figuring out how.
You are:
• Extremely resourceful
• A natural problem solver
• Comfortable working independently
• Organized without needing a complicated system
• Persistent with follow-up
• Comfortable calling people, not just emailing
• Good at researching and quickly separating good options from bad ones
• Able to make judgment calls without asking permission at every step
• Comfortable working with limited direction
• Tech-savvy and comfortable using AI tools
• Someone who genuinely enjoys checking things off a list
Experience as a personal assistant, operations coordinator, project coordinator, office manager, household manager, or similar role is helpful, but we’re more interested in how you think and operate than a specific résumé.
What This Role Is NOT
This is not primarily:
• Calendar management
• Inbox management
• Meeting coordination
• Social media
• Data entry
• A role where you’ll be given a detailed task list every morning
You’ll often be given the desired outcome, and we’ll expect you to determine how to get there.
Schedule
Approximately 10–15 hours per week to start.
The role is remote. Most work can be completed flexibly, but some availability during normal weekday business hours and weekends is necessary for calls, vendors, appointments, and follow-ups.
