Epic PB Claims Analyst

We are seeking an experienced Epic PB Claims Analyst to support Professional Billing claims workflows, optimization, troubleshooting, and ongoing system initiatives. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience within Epic Professional Billing and must hold a current Epic PB Claims certification. This individual will partner closely with billing, revenue cycle, operational, and technical teams to ensure accurate and efficient claims processing. Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) experience is highly preferred and considered a significant plus.

Key Responsibilities

• Support, maintain, and optimize Epic Professional Billing (PB) Claims functionality and workflows.
• Configure and troubleshoot claim processing, claim edits, workqueues, billing rules, and related Professional Billing functionality.
• Analyze claim issues and identify root causes related to system configuration, workflows, payer requirements, or operational processes.
• Partner with Revenue Cycle, billing, coding, and operational stakeholders to gather requirements and implement effective Epic solutions.
• Assist with system enhancements, upgrades, testing, validation, and production support.
• Support claims-related workflows throughout the billing lifecycle, including claim creation, edits, submission, rejections, and follow-up.
• Develop and execute testing plans to ensure changes meet business and technical requirements.
• Create and maintain system documentation, workflow documentation, and build specifications.
• Provide subject matter expertise and recommendations around Epic PB Claims best practices and workflow optimization.
• Collaborate with cross-functional Epic application teams when claims workflows intersect with other areas of the system.

Required Qualifications

• Current Epic PB Claims certification is required.
• Hands-on experience supporting and/or implementing Epic Professional Billing Claims.
• Strong understanding of professional billing and revenue cycle workflows.
• Experience with Epic claims configuration, troubleshooting, testing, and optimization.
• Ability to analyze complex billing and claims issues and translate operational needs into Epic solutions.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with technical and operational teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• FQHC experience is a strong plus.
• Experience supporting billing and claims workflows within an FQHC or community health environment.
• Experience with Epic implementations, upgrades, optimization projects, or revenue cycle transformation initiatives.
• Additional Epic Professional Billing certifications or proficiencies are a plus.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is a hands-on Epic PB Claims Analyst who understands both the technical Epic build and the operational side of professional billing. They should be comfortable owning claims-related issues from investigation through resolution and working directly with revenue cycle stakeholders to improve workflows. Candidates with Epic PB Claims certification and prior FQHC experience will be especially well aligned with this opportunity.

This is a Contract position based out of Johnson City, TN.

The pay range for this position is $80.00 - $90.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
