Payroll & Finance Assistant | $22-$31/hour | Full-Time | Remote

We're looking for a detail-oriented, dependable, and organized Payroll & Finance Assistant to join our Finance team in a fully remote role.

You'll work closely with both Finance and Human Resources, supporting semi-monthly payroll, expense tracking, bookkeeping, reconciliations, and month-end activities. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with numbers, takes pride in getting the details right, and can be trusted with sensitive employee and financial information.

What You'll Do

Payroll Support

• Process semimonthly payroll accurately and on time

• Partner with Human Resources to review timecards and identify discrepancies before payroll is finalized

• Help address questions related to pay, deductions, and pay stubs

• Maintain organized payroll records and supporting documentation

• Identify and escalate unusual adjustments, discrepancies, or unresolved payroll issues appropriately

Expenses & Accounts Payable

• Track and categorize company expenses, credit card transactions, and employee reimbursements

• Collect, organize, and digitally maintain receipts and supporting documentation

• Follow up on missing receipts and incomplete expense submissions

• Help ensure company purchases and reimbursements have complete supporting records

• Identify coding or documentation discrepancies and route questions to Finance leadership when needed

QuickBooks & Bookkeeping

• Accurately enter approved expenses, bills, and transactions into QuickBooks Online

• Assign expenses to appropriate accounts, classes, and projects

• Assist with monthly bank and credit card reconciliations

• Help prepare basic financial reports and supporting schedules

• Support month-end close by gathering documentation, reviewing transactions, and resolving routine discrepancies

• Maintain clean, organized electronic records that support internal review and audit readiness

• Work Arrangement: Remote in the states of New Mexico, Texas, Indiana, North Carolina, Idaho, or California.

• Reports To: CFO / Finance Leadership

• Schedule: Must be available during business/working hours of central and mountain time zones.

What We're Looking For

You don't need decades of accounting experience to be successful here. You do need to be accurate, reliable, organized, and comfortable taking ownership of recurring deadlines.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; coursework or an associate degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred

• 1-2 years of experience in payroll, bookkeeping, accounts payable, finance administration, or a related function preferred

• Previous payroll-processing experience strongly preferred

• Working knowledge of QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Excel

• Strong numerical accuracy and exceptional attention to detail

• Excellent organization and follow-through

• Ability to identify discrepancies, investigate routine issues, and know when something needs to be escalated

• Ability to appropriately handle confidential payroll, banking, employee, and company financial information

• Comfortable learning and working across payroll, HR, and electronic document-management systems

Working Remotely at CRP

Remote doesn't mean disconnected.

You'll collaborate with our Finance and Human Resources teams and will communicate consistently during scheduled working hours. Because payroll doesn't wait, dependable availability during critical payroll-processing periods and the ability to consistently meet recurring Finance deadlines are essential.

You'll need a reliable, professional remote workspace that allows you to stay focused, communicate effectively, and protect confidential employee and financial information.
