Part-time Reference Librarian

Compensation Range:

Part-Time Reference Librarian (Remote, USA - MUST WORK PACIFIC TIME ZONE HOURS). For example, if you are located in EST, you must be available until 12 am EST to accommodate 9 pm PST Mon - Thur. 

Help Students Succeed Through Research, Reference & Virtual Support

National University is seeking a student-focused Part-Time Reference Librarian to join our fully remote library team. In this role, you will provide high-quality reference and research support to undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral students through chat, text, phone, email, and virtual appointments.

You will assist students with research questions, conduct one-on-one consultations, support webinars and instructional sessions, and help create an exceptional online library experience that promotes student success.

What You'll Bring

• Master's degree in Library Science (MLS/MLIS) from an ALA-accredited institution
• 3+ years of professional librarian experience
• Strong reference, research, and customer service skills
• Experience in academic libraries and/or online library services preferred
• Excellent communication, organization, and technology skills
• Experience with Springshare LibAnswers is a plus

Schedule Requirement

Availability is required Sunday through Thursday, including:

• Until 8:00 PM Pacific on Sundays
• Until 9:00 PM Pacific Monday through Thursday

This schedule is a core requirement of the position.

Compensation: Starting at $24.86 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
