Paid Media Team Leader (Meta, TikTok & Google Ads)

Fully Remote

South African Candidates Only

Are you an experienced Paid Media professional who thrives on leading high-performing teams and delivering exceptional results?

We're looking for a Paid Media Team Leader to oversee the performance, delivery quality, and client experience of a dedicated paid media team. You'll lead a team of 4 Paid Media Account Managers and 1 QA Manager, with responsibility for approximately 20 client accounts across Meta, Google Ads, and TikTok.

This is a leadership-focused role. While you won't be managing campaigns on a daily basis, you'll remain technically hands-on enough to step into accounts when required, support your team during busy periods, maintain quality standards, and coach your team to continually improve their skills.

You'll work alongside other Team Leaders to ensure the paid media department consistently delivers outstanding client results.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and oversee full-funnel paid media strategies across Meta, Google, and TikTok that drive ticket sales, bookings, and reservations against each client's commercial objectives.

Support Account Managers with campaign planning, setup, testing, optimisation, and performance improvements, driving strong CPA and ROAS across every account.

Analyse campaign performance, identify trends, diagnose underperformance, understand seasonality, and uncover optimisation opportunities.

Collaborate closely with the in-house Creative Studio by contributing to creative strategy, briefing assets, reviewing creative performance, and ensuring alignment between teams.

Support Account Managers in building long-term client relationships and step in to manage key accounts, escalations, and commercially sensitive conversations when required.

Drive client retention, renewals, upselling opportunities, and portfolio growth.

Step into client accounts during absences, peak periods, or where senior support is required.

Lead, coach, mentor, and develop a team of 4 Paid Media Account Managers and 1 QA Manager through regular one-to-ones, clear expectations, and ongoing support.

Identify skill gaps, coordinate training, and continually raise the technical capability of the team.

Help the team prioritise workloads during high-pressure campaign launches and seasonal peaks.

Manage the QA process by reviewing weekly account audits, prioritising improvements, and incorporating findings into coaching, SOP enhancements, and training initiatives.

Conduct your own quality reviews across campaign builds, tracking, optimisation, reporting, and creative execution to ensure consistently high standards.

Contribute to improving internal best practices and processes alongside fellow Team Leaders.

Participate in weekly leadership meetings and regular one-to-one management sessions.

Ensure all client reports are delivered by close of business every Monday with clear performance insights and recommendations.

Stay up to date with platform developments, paid media trends, and competitor activity, incorporating insights into client strategy.

Be available for occasional after-hours or weekend communication during major campaign launches, ticket releases, or live event periods.

What We're Looking For

4+ years' experience in Paid Media, PPC, or Performance Marketing.

Strong hands-on experience across Meta Ads, Google Ads, and TikTok Ads.

Previous experience leading or managing a paid media team, ideally within an agency environment.

Confident working directly within ad platforms to troubleshoot, optimise campaigns, and solve performance issues.

Proven ability to coach, mentor, and develop Paid Media professionals.

Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret performance data and make commercially driven decisions.

Solution-oriented mindset with excellent problem-solving abilities.

Highly organised with exceptional attention to detail.

Understanding of creative strategy and experience collaborating with creative teams.

Ability to remain calm under pressure while helping others prioritise effectively.

Excellent client communication skills with experience managing senior stakeholder relationships.

Experience working with hospitality, leisure, events, attractions, or live entertainment clients would be highly advantageous, although a genuine interest in these industries is also welcomed.
