JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS
The Department of Recreation, Park, and Tourism Management (RPTM) is seeking a student worker to fill a part-time marketing and communications position to help support the promotion of RPTM programs, units, services, and events.
This is a paid position, and the student worker will be asked to work approximately 5-10 hours per week. The student can work remotely and hours are flexible with weekly/ bi-weekly update meetings with the Director of the RPTM Student Success and Engagement Center (SSEC).
The worker's primary responsibilities will include:
· Programming and event development, planning and coordinating of programs put on by the SSEC
· Assist with the administration and operations in SSEC
· Developing content and coordinating the promotions/social media SSEC calendar and accounts
The ideal candidate should have experience programming or event planning, or have an interest in developing these skills further. The candidate should also possess excellent writing and editing skills. Proficiency working in Microsoft Office 365 software applications is required. Basic promotion design skills (e.g. Canva, Adobe Express) are preferred but not required.
The worker must demonstrate excellent attention to detail and time management skills, be organized, and self-directed to work remotely. The position is open to all students but RPTM students and/or students enrolled in the Certificate for Meetings and Events is preferred.
