At Carrum, we live and breathe the mission of transforming the healthcare system to create an unmatched experience for patients. If you are passionate about changing healthcare and want to finally get rid of surprise bills, poor quality, and high prices, while thriving in an entrepreneurial, cutting-edge environment, we would love to connect with you.
In 2014 Carrum reinvented the Centers of Excellence (COE) category in digital health. Today, 90% of the US population lives within 50 miles of a Carrum COE and our providers rank in the top 10% nationally. Our team’s execution has been recognized by the venture community and we’ve raised more than $96M in aggregate from investors like OMERS, Tiger Global Management and Wildcat Ventures. Our impact has been externally proven in a 2021 RAND Corporation study and featured as a Harvard Business School (HBS) case study.
The Operations Specialist is an essential driver of our daily delivery. In this "Developing" role, you handle a variety of factors to resolve problems of moderate scope. You are moving beyond strictly following a manual; instead, you exercise judgment within defined procedures to determine the best course of action.
You are responsible for identifying inefficiencies, optimizing systems, and implementing solutions that enhance scalability. You will act as a bridge between Patient Care, Clinical Operations, Tech, and Data Analytics. You operate under firm direction but are expected to manage your own workflow and anticipate delays before they become blockers.
The salary range for this role is $31.00-32.00/hr depending on geography and level of experience, plus equity and an annual bonus.
You’re excited about this opportunity because you will...
Lead Operational Improvements: Identify inefficiencies and recommend practical solutions that enhance patient workflows and technology adoption.
Scale through Documentation: Document process updates and share learnings to ensure the team stays aligned as we grow.
Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Partner with Clinical and Product teams to ensure smooth implementation of new service lines and clinical operations.
Manage Independent Escalations: Handle basic escalations independently and provide clear handoffs to senior leadership when necessary.
Test and Refine: Provide critical feedback on internal and external digital platforms to ensure tools are iterative and user-friendly.
Mentor and Support: Apply feedback to your own growth while sharing insights to support the development of your peers.
Be a Voice for Improvement: Contribute fresh ideas and insights to drive more efficient internal systems and better patient outcomes.
We’re excited about you because…
You typically bring 2+ years of relevant experience (3+ years preferred) in healthcare operations, patient coordination, or digital health.
You can analyze a variety of factors to determine the best action within established procedures.
You anticipate patient and team needs and take initiative to support them, using empathy to guide your tone and timing.
You take ownership of your professional development, integrating feedback into your day-to-day habits and adapting quickly when things don’t go to plan.
You flex your approach when new challenges arise and support the team during "messy" or unclear transitions.
You ensure diverse voices are heard and credited, and you actively check for bias in your own decisions.
You have a knack for troubleshooting, synthesizing imperfect information into actionable insight, and creatively solving problems with foresight.
Why you’ll love working with us...
We’re a hard-working, humble, and compassionate group motivated to solve the hard problems in healthcare today. You’ll work with talented, experienced co-workers from companies like Booz & Company, Livongo, 98point6, Google, and Optum.
