About the Role:

This position is designed for an experienced short-term rental professional who is ready to step into a dual-phase operational role in a fast-paced environment. You will start directly in the engine room—mastering daily guest communications, handling property logistics, phone calls, and managing operational workflows. As you gain deep familiarity with the portfolio, you will transition into optimizing business processes: rebuilding outdated SOPs, creating performance dashboards, and deploying advanced AI automations and agents (such as Claude) to streamline operations. You will report directly to leadership and play a critical role in scaling the business.

Key Responsibilities

Frontline Guest & Property Operations (Immediate Focus)

• Multi-Channel Guest Communication: Manage guest communications across Airbnb, VRBO, Booking.com, and phone calls with speed, clarity, exceptional hospitality etiquette, and professionalism.
• Issue Resolution & Escalations: Handle daily property issues, coordinate maintenance dispatch, resolve angry guest situations, and manage damage/insurance claims efficiently under pressure.
• Financial & Admin Tracking: Assist with basic operational bookkeeping, financial tracking, platform admin tasks, and leasing activities.

Systems, Processes & AI Engineering (Growth Focus)

• Workflow Audits & SOP Building: Audit existing operational workflows, identify process gaps, and author up-to-date, actionable SOPs for a streamlined operation.
• Performance Dashboards: Design and implement real-time reporting dashboards for clear operational visibility.
• AI & Agent Automations: Integrate modern AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT) to build automations, create custom AI agents, and eliminate repetitive administrative tasks across the business.
   

Qualifications & Skills

Non-Negotiable Requirements

• STR Domain Experience: Minimum 2+ years of direct experience with short-term rental/vacation rental management operations and major OTAs (Airbnb, VRBO, Booking.com). Experience at prominent operators (e.g., Sonder, Vacasa, Casago) is a strong signal.
• Phone & Written Communication: Flawless, professional written and spoken English, with complete confidence on phone calls with guests and vendors.
• AI & Agent Capability: Proficient with AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT) for creating automations, prompt engineering, and agent building.
• High Autonomy & Problem Solving: Thrives in a fast-moving environment without requiring hand-holding or step-by-step supervision; strong ability to prioritize competing tasks during hectic operations.
• Absolute Reliability: High accountability, bulletproof home internet setup, backup power, and willingness to work US hours.

Preferred / Bonus Qualifications

• Leasing Experience: Background in rental leasing or tenant acquisition is a major bonus.
