The Operations Finance Analyst will support financial reporting, managerial accounting, and general ledger reconciliations within the Deposit and Lending Operations division. Responsibilities include compiling and analyzing operational data, preparing management reports, and supporting audit-readiness and process improvement initiatives.
Overview
Ocean Bank is seeking an Operations Finance Analyst to support financial reporting, managerial accounting, general ledger reconciliations, KPI reporting, and internal control activities within our Deposit and Lending Operations division. In this role, you will partner with the Finance team to analyze financial and operational data, prepare recurring reports, support account certifications, investigate variances, and contribute to process improvement and audit-readiness initiatives.
Responsibilities
Prepare monthly financial and operational reporting packages for management review.
Compile, validate, and analyze financial and operational data from multiple systems and reporting sources.
Perform variance, trend, profitability, and expense analysis to support business decisions.
Maintain KPI reporting, operational scorecards, financial reports, and analytical schedules.
Prepare and maintain general ledger reconciliations and support documentation.
Research and resolve unusual account activity, balance fluctuations, and reporting variances.
Support month-end close activities, general ledger certifications, account analysis, audit requests, and internal control activities.
Identify opportunities to improve reporting, reconciliation, certification, and documentation processes.
Participate in automation and process-improvement initiatives as assigned.
Support FDICIA, internal control, and governance-related activities.
Assist Internal Audit, External Audit, Finance, and Regulatory teams with information requests.

Requirements
Bachelor’s degree specifically Accounting, Finance, or Economics.
Data Analytics Knowledge.
Combination of education and work experience will be considered.

Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, account analysis, and reconciliations.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to compile, organize, analyze, and interpret large volumes of information and data.
Ability to communicate financial information clearly and concisely to Finance, Operations, and management stakeholders.
High degree of initiative, accountability, resourcefulness, and attention to detail.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and research skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and financial/accounting systems.
Preferences
Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics,
Knowledge of managerial accounting, budgeting, forecasting, profitability analysis, and variance analysis.
Relevant experience in public accounting, auditing, financial analysis, banking finance, or related disciplines.
Banking or financial institution experience.
Hands-on experience with AI tools.
