Overview

The CDC Foundation is seeking a Communications Program Manager to support the Massachusetts Department of Public Health’s Office of Healthcare Strategy and Planning, which includes clinical and healthcare delivery system expertise, the Healthcare Workforce Center, and the Primary Care Office.

The Communications Program Manager will support individuals within the Office by creating, managing, and enhancing internal and external communications about Office programs, data, and successes.

The position will also provide information about healthcare settings and the workforce, including available resources; help understand trends and gaps in healthcare delivery; and form and maintain partnerships to support a comprehensive healthcare delivery system for Massachusetts.

Qualifications

· Bachelor's degree in public health or other related field.

· At least 5-7 years’ experience in project management.

· Understanding of public health and healthcare delivery system.

· Excellent written/verbal communication and presentation skills.

· Skills and demonstrated experience in project management, cultural awareness, health equity, creative problem solving, and innovation.

· Strong technical skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Teams, Excel, PowerPoint), and SharePoint.

· Extensive knowledge and expertise in the use of project management methodologies and tools, as well as resource management practices

· Proficiency in communications tools such as Constant Contact and Adobe Express a plus.

· Excellent judgment and decision making, with strong organizational skills and attention to detail, and business acumen to accomplish project goals and strategic objectives.

· Ability to manage multiple timelines, thrive in a complex environment, and successfully address competing priorities.


Responsibilities

· Responsible for overall coordination, status reporting and stability of project-oriented work efforts.

· Partner with DPH’s Communications Office and Commissioner’s Office to develop and implement a robust online presence for OHSP.

· Represent OHSP and HWC at events including recruitment, conferences, and professional association events.

· Lead development and maintenance of OHSP distribution lists by topic area and project.

· Establishes and implements project management processes and methodologies to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, adhere to high quality standards and meet stakeholder expectations.

· Responsible for assembling project plans and teamwork assignments, directing and monitoring work efforts on a daily basis, identifying resource needs, performing quality review; and escalating functional, quality, timeline issues appropriately.

· Responsible for tracking key project milestones and adjusting project plans and/or resources to meet the needs of stakeholders.

· Coordinates communication with all areas of the enterprise that impacts the scope, budget, risk and resources of the work effort being managed.

· Manages one or more cross-functional projects of varying complexity.

· Maintain collegial, productive relationships with colleagues and partners.

· Clearly communicate policies and procedures to non-technical audiences.

This role is involved in a dynamic public health program. As such, roles and responsibilities are subject to change as situations evolve. Roles and responsibilities listed above may be expanded upon or updated to match priorities and needs, once written approval is received by both the CDC Foundation and the Massachusetts Department of Public Health in order to best support the Commonwealth of Massachusetts in their public health programming.


This position is currently a remote position. CDC Foundation retains the right to make adjustments to this as required.
