Position Overview

The Principal Consultant is responsible for delivering NetSuite implementation projects while leading the client relationship and managing internal delegation of tasks alongside the Project Manager. This includes ensuring tasks are completed on time and on budget, maintaining the quality and efficiency of Vursor's delivery processes, and ensuring client satisfaction. The Principal Consultant is also accountable for fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement across the project teams.

Key Responsibilities

Project Delivery (85% of time)

Billable Work (85%)

  • Provide NetSuite consulting expertise utilizing industry-leading best practices, business analysis, and a pragmatic mindset to solve clients’ most complex requirements.

  • Lead Analysis, Design or Drive sessions with minimal knowledge ramp-up.

  • Conduct business process mapping, requirements gathering, and design workshops with clients to define configuration requirements.

  • Implement and deploy NetSuite solutions to accommodate industry, business, and regulatory requirements across process areas.

  • Configure NetSuite features, processes, roles, and permissions based on client requirements and migrate legacy transactional and entity data from client systems into NetSuite.

  • Troubleshoot issues that arise during configuration and resolve them efficiently.

  • Actively lead 3-5 implementation projects concurrently. This will include active participation in multiple engagements, interacting directly with client stakeholders during the implementation.

  • Document meeting minutes, requirements, and solution design decisions in line with Vursor delivery standards. These standards also apply to communications and interactions with our clients and internal stakeholders.

  • Support and lead User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and End-User Training sessions as required.

  • Ensure the delivery of complex implementation projects with minimal PM oversight. Including the ability to identify project risks and provide mitigation strategies.

  • Lead a team of consultants through an engagement by dispatching and managing project tasks and/or delegating portions of the project while retaining accountability for the activities.

  • Provide high level project estimates in terms of scope, timeline and budget

  • Understand scope requirements in order to establish timelines and resource requirements to ensure a successful delivery. May be responsible for timeline/resource requirements as well.

  • Provide ongoing post-implementation support to drive user adoption and continuous improvement.

Internal Process Improvements (5% of time)

  • Participate in and lead the development and improvement of Vursor’s internal processes, templates, and delivery documentation through Practices and personal contributions.

  • Contribute to, participate in the delivery of knowledge sharing activities such as Lunch & Learns and internal working groups.

Professional Development (5% of time)

  • Learn Oracle NetSuite Leading Practices through self-training, the Oracle MyLearn portal and SuiteSuccess assets.

  • Actively pursue NetSuite certifications as part of the defined certification path.

  • Participate in coaching/mentoring peers

Corporate (5% of time)

  • Engage in pre-sales solution consulting

  • Participate in quarterly/yearly performance evaluations

  • Attend mandated company meetings and daily standups, as well as team activities.

Key Metrics of Success

  • Utilization: Maintain individual, team and department billable utilization targets and other KPIs as defined by the organization.

  • Project Delivery: Projects delivered on time, on budget, and with approved scope changes.

  • Quality of Deliverables: Positive internal QA reviews and limited credits issued to clients.

  • CSAT: Positive client satisfaction scores from post-mortems and CSAT surveys.

  • Complete quarterly department and corporate goals.

  • Contributions to Practices and pre-sales

  • Certifications: Completion of NetSuite certifications within defined timelines.

  • Team Contribution: Active participation in knowledge sharing and internal initiatives.

Required Qualifications

  • 5-7 years of experience in NetSuite consulting or ERP implementation services

  • 4+ years leading medium to complex implementation projects.

  • Business Process Knowledge:

  • Reference for all core business process areas, including Record to Report, Design to Build, Order to Cash, and Procure to Pay.

  • Advanced knowledge of the following areas: multi subsidiary accounting, advanced projects, basic manufacturing and WMS

  • Proficient in at least three of the following: Fixed Assets Management (FAM), Advanced Revenue Management (ARM), multi-book accounting, SuiteBilling, Field Service Management (FSM), and advanced manufacturing.

  • Accounting: Reference for all native NetSuite transactions and their GL impact, as well as financial segmentation (incl. Chart of accounts and account types). Advanced knowledge of concepts such as foreign currencies, currency revaluations, eliminations, revenue deferral, expense amortization, inventory costing, as well as financial reporting.

  • Industry Exposure: Advanced understanding of at least one of the following verticals and proficiency in at least 3: Recruitment & Staffing, Private equity, Hospitality, FSM/Construction, Financial Services/Insurance and SaaS/Business Services

  • Technical Familiarity: Act as a reference regarding NetSuite configuration options (custom fields, workflows, reporting, dashboards). Extensive experience with SuiteScripts as well as custom records, transactions and segments. In depth knowledge of SuiteFlow or SuiteAnalytics is an asset.

  • Reporting: Act as a reference for NetSuite reporting options such as Saved Searches, Reports and Workbooks as well as when to leverage the appropriate type.

  • Soft Skills: Strong communication, problem-solving, and time management skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients and team members. Ability to adapt approach to client specific requirements and manage scope creep. Capacity to de-escalation certain topics with the client as well as act as a back for a PM.

  • Certifications required as follows: SuiteFoundation, NetSuite Administrator, Financial User,SuiteAnalytics User, ERP Consultant, and at least two enablements (ARM, SuiteBilling, MultiBook, FSM). The candidate should also be certified with at least one 3rd party partner

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in business, Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.

AI Skillsets

  • Proficient in using AI tools such as Claude, ChatGPT or Gemini

  • Familiar with AI agents and MCP connectors

  • Certifications are an asset

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience at a NetSuite Solution Provider or high-growth consulting firm

  • Familiarity with enterprise implementation strategies

  • Experience expanding service offerings or building new practices

  • Background in change management and organizational transformation
