As a Business Manager, you will drive strategy and growth with external and internal business partners to transform and shape our future in our largest business segments.  You will own key relationships with existing and new licensed business partners and operate as a general manager.  Your work will be broad, impactful, and highly-cross-functional.  You will be responsible for new store development and portfolio management, program innovation and adoption, complex negotiations, technology solutioning, and supporting Albertsons & Starbucks world-class Market Operations teams. 


As a business manager, you will… 

  • Develop and execute strategic joint business plans to grow, develop, and retain a key licensed coffeehouse portfolio 
  • Cultivate strong, trust-based relationships internally and externally at all levels including senior, C level stakeholder
  • Distill complex ideas and data to craft actionable insights that drive consensus and make material business impact
  • Collaborate seamlessly across teams to align strategies, remove obstacles, and accelerate execution
  • Lead cross functional collaboration & program implementation across broad-ranging departments
  • Build effective business proposals and financial models to support decision making and investment strategies  
  • Develop negotiation strategy and approach for complex partnership agreements
  • Drive adoption of the latest innovations, technology, equipment and services across the portfolio
  • Proactively identify external and internal factors to remain current on industry trends and competitive landscape 

     


We’d love to hear from people with:

  • Franchise development and/or business development experience, preferably in Starbucks Licensed Stores Business Development environment (5+ years)
  • Direct experience negotiating complex agreements and contracts with executives (5+ years)  
  • B2B Sales and strategic account management with Fortune 500 or industry leading companies (5+ years)  
  • Demonstrates strong executive presence and maturity  
  • General management: application of multi-disciplinary business practices with internal and external teams (e.g. marketing, strategy, finance, technology, sourcing, store development, legal, operations) (5+ years)  
  • Strong strategic thinking, analytical, problem-solving capabilities  
  • Expertise at simplifying complicated material to communicate in a concise and effective way  
  • Ability to influence C level leaders in significant investment decisions and change management  
  • Ability to adapt strategies and plans, and thrive in an ambiguous environment

*If you are working in CA, CO, IL, LA, ME, MA, NE, ND or RI, you will accrue vacation up to a maximum of 120 hours (190 in CA) for roles below director and 200 hours (316 in CA) for roles at director or above.  For roles in other states, you will be granted vacation time starting at 120 hours annually for roles below director and 200 hours annually for roles director and above.

The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity.  At Starbucks, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at the high end of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.
