The Member Solutions Advocate is responsible for managing delinquent accounts to minimize financial risk through collection, counseling, and recovery efforts. They must maintain accurate documentation, process loan workouts, and ensure compliance with all credit union policies and regulations.

Location: Remote (Based out of Rome, NY)
Salary Range: $22.15/hour to $31.38/hour, actual starting rate will depend on experience

Consistent with the credit union mission of building connections and providing our members the right financial services to live life, dream big and achieve financial success, the Member Solution Advocate will:
Support the administration and operation of Credit Solutions policies and programs that support and further the strategic goals and objectives of the Credit Union. Work collaboratively to maintain efficient, professional procedures to achieve the daily workflow, in compliance with all regulations and standards.
The Member Solution Specialist's role is to reduce delinquencies/charge off to the lowest possible percentage of outstanding loans. The Member Solution Specialist must ensure that all assigned delinquent accounts are reviewed and contacted as outlined by the collection schedule to minimize the financial risk to the credit union. All work is subject to review and/or audit on a no-notice basis by the Supervisor, Management, Senior Management and/or Internal/External Auditors.
What You’ll Do:
As a Member Solutions Advocate, your primary responsibilities will include:
Handling several areas of collection assigned to the Loan Workout and Recovery Department
Contacting and counseling delinquent members via telephone, mail, or email
Maintaining detailed documentation of all communication and actions taken
Reviewing and assigning accounts for repossessions
Reviewing proposals from Credit Counseling agencies
Maintaining databases and spreadsheets for analysis and tracking
Recommend accounts for legal action when necessary
Additional duties specific to the assigned area (Credit Cards, Mortgages, Member Privilege) may include:
Credit Card or Member Privilege Charge Off Preparation, processing, and reporting
Reviewing fair share invoices from credit counseling services
Recommend accounts for charge off
Contacting members with negative shares or returned checks
