Overview

We are looking for a friendly and organized Medical Scheduling & Patient Support Assistant to support a busy outpatient drug and alcohol treatment organization.

This role is responsible for contacting patients, confirming appointments and group sessions, updating patient information, and maintaining accurate schedules within the EMR system. The ideal candidate enjoys speaking with people, is highly organized, and provides excellent customer service.

No previous behavioral health experience is required. Training will be provided.




Key Responsibilities

  • Call and text patients to confirm appointments and group sessions

  • Schedule appointments within the EMR system

  • Update schedules when patients are rescheduled or discharged

  • Verify patient phone numbers and contact information

  • Update patient demographic information as needed

  • Enter appointment information accurately into the EMR

  • Follow up with patients who cannot be reached

  • Maintain accurate scheduling records

  • Communicate scheduling updates with clinic staff

  • Assist with general administrative tasks as needed




Requirements

  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills

  • Friendly and professional phone manner

  • Comfortable making outbound phone calls throughout the day

  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills

  • Good computer and data entry skills

  • Reliable and dependable

  • Previous customer service, scheduling, or administrative experience is preferred

  • Healthcare experience is helpful but not required




Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with EMR systems

  • Medical office, behavioral health, or scheduling experience

  • One position requires fluency in both English and Spanish to support Spanish-speaking patients.
