Summary of Job Duties:

The Master Application Systems Analyst supports [EMR Services] and works with little to no supervision, exercising appropriate judgment and operational considerations. Supports system applications, primarily [Beacon]. Exhibits expert knowledge and proficiency on overall software functionality and integration. Responsible for supervising and participating in the team’s work and distribution of responsibilities related to system build, testing, implementation support, and maintenance of assigned Epic applications, ensuring that service level agreements and deadlines are met. Communicates team performance to upper management and provides feedback on team member evaluations. Performs in-depth analysis, troubleshooting, data collection, and root cause analysis and then identifies and/or implements potential solutions for issues related to the system or usage of it. Analyzes/reviews and tests each product release and communicates needed changes to operations. Must be able to document, follow and enforce change control procedures for the system. Drives and facilitates coordination of efforts required from analysts, system vendors, and operations to ensure that system integrity is maintained and that IT deliverables meet operational business needs. Researches, analyzes, facilitates and implements business and system workflows in order to expedite process improvement and coordinate business practices. Identifies best practices and implements opportunities for standardization. Prepares activity and other reports as necessary. Attains necessary certifications, as applicable, in a timely manner according to policy. Provides On-Call support for application. As team leader, provides procedural and technical guidance and supervision to team members.

Qualifications:

• Master's degree in computer science, nursing, or a related healthcare field, plus four (4) years of experience in application systems development and testing, including at least two (2) years of experience in a healthcare delivery system and one (1) year of experience managing a process and/or application, or
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, nursing, or a related healthcare field plus six (6) years of experience in application systems development and testing, including at least two (2) years of experience in a healthcare delivery system and one (1) year of experience managing a process and/or application, or
• Associate's degree in computer science, nursing, or related healthcare field plus eight (8) years of experience in application systems development and testing, including at least two (2) years of experience in a healthcare delivery system and one (1) year of experience managing a process and/or application, or
• High School diploma/GED plus ten (10) years of experience in application systems development and testing, including at least two (2) years of experience in a healthcare delivery system and one (1) year of experience managing a process and/or application required.
• Required certification: Epic Beacon. 
• Must be certified in accordance with the IT Epic Certification Policy,

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Must be proficient in using Microsoft Office Professional software suite.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Project and Microsoft Visio. 
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Two years in a leading role with teams or projects is preferred.

Responsibilities:

• Leads the configuration, maintenance, testing, and optimization of assigned applications to ensure system integrity, efficiency, and compliance with organizational and regulatory requirements.
• Partners with users, operational teams, IT teams, and vendors to identify business needs, define workflows, develop solutions, and communicate system changes and capabilities.
• Leads troubleshooting and resolution of complex system issues, including root-cause analysis, prioritization, escalation, documentation, and communication with stakeholders.
• Oversees application integration, testing, security, and production changes to support data integrity, system stability, clinical operations, and regulatory requirements.
• Leads and supports IT projects, system implementations, and application upgrades, including planning, requirements gathering, testing, documentation, and implementation.
• Provides leadership, mentorship, and guidance to analysts, including workload management, coaching, performance feedback, issue escalation, and team communication.
• Develops and maintains system documentation, training materials, reports, audit trails, change controls, and business continuity procedures.
• Supports project cost analysis, estimates, budget validation, and other fiscal or metric-related activities as needed.
• Maintains required certifications and stays current on industry, regulatory, and technology changes that may impact assigned applications.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
