Position Description: Marketing Manager


The Marketing Manager leads the development and execution of marketing strategies for Evergreen's utility clients. This role builds strong relationships with internal and external clients, provides strategic marketing guidance, and uses a results-oriented approach to develop plans, manage budgets, and report on performance.

Key Responsibilities



  • Develop client-specific marketing strategies that support program goals and objectives.
  • Build a deep understanding of each program and ensure marketing strategies align with desired outcomes.
  • Prepare annual client marketing plans and budgets.
  • Collaborate with copywriters, designers, web developers, and other marketing team members on strategy and campaign development.
  • Create clear project briefs for creative work, including project goals, objectives, audiences, deliverables, and supporting information.
  • Coordinate technical and background content from program teams to support accurate project development.
  • Serve as the initial reviewer for creative projects, ensuring work meets client needs and brand standards, and coordinate internal and external reviews.
  • Manage and report on contracted marketing budgets.
  • Plan and optimize campaigns across email, web, paid search, digital advertising, and social media.
  • Use customer, CRM, and web data to develop audience segments, map customer journeys, and identify engagement patterns.
  • Establish KPIs and evaluate attribution, conversion, and ROI using analytics and automation platforms.
  • Translate campaign and audience data into actionable recommendations that improve marketing effectiveness.
  • Manage projects, timelines, and deliverables using project management software and proactive team communication.
  • Develop industry knowledge and integrate with program teams to provide effective consulting services.
  • Perform other duties and ad hoc projects as assigned.


Position Qualifications


The position requires strong client service, strategic thinking, and the ability to build positive working relationships. Candidates must be collaborative, proactive, receptive to feedback, and comfortable shifting between client-specific needs. Additional qualifications include:

  • Strong organization, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities, interruptions, and changing schedules.
  • Excellent consulting, presentation, relationship-building, and written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and make sound decisions using discretion and creative problem-solving.
  • Demonstrated project ownership, including anticipating needs, driving solutions, and consistently following through.
  • Ability to present concepts to clients and work effectively with cross-functional team members.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Familiarity with Adobe, digital media, analytics, marketing automation, CRM, and project management tools is preferred.
  • Strong background in digital marketing, audience insights, consumer analytics, and campaign performance measurement is preferred.
  • This is a fully remote position; however, candidates must reside in one of the following states: Washington, Oregon, Wyoming, Idaho, or Utah. 


Preferred Skills/Experience



  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in marketing or a related field; a graduate degree is a plus.
  • Seven to ten or more years of experience in marketing and client management.
  • Experience in the energy efficiency industry or another technical industry is a plus.
  • Experience developing marketing plans and budgets and reporting campaign performance to clients.
  • Experience managing multi-channel digital campaigns and using data to guide strategy and optimization.
  • Valid driver's license, dependable transportation, and verifiable insurance.

  • Driving and climbing stairs as needed for work-related travel and activities.


Other Requirements


  • Drug test - must pass a pre-employment drug screen.
  • Pre-employment background check.
  • A solid internet connection, a dedicated and fully equipped home office for public or client-facing virtual on-screen meetings, and a reliable phone.
  • Evergreen will provide a computer, two monitors, a monitor stand, speakers, a webcam, a docking station, a wireless keyboard and mouse, and a surge suppressor.
  • We are a fully remote telecommuting organization. This position offers a significant amount of flexibility in line with meeting responsibilities. Some evening, early morning, and weekend meetings and events may occasionally be necessary.
  • Travel is required for Evergreen and client meetings and is typically arranged with one to two weeks of notice.
  • Required location: Idaho, Oregon, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming.
