Marketing Intern

Carnegie Learning is seeking a curious, creative, and collaborative Summer Communications & Marketing Intern to support storytelling, social media, thought leadership, and cross-functional marketing initiatives across the organization.

Internship Overview
The intern will gain hands-on experience supporting real-world communications and marketing efforts across social media, public relations, customer storytelling, and research communications. This role will work closely with the Director of Social Media & Communications while also collaborating with content marketing, product marketing, research, operations, and creative teams.
This internship emphasizes mentorship, skill-building, and exposure to multiple areas of communications and marketing — not just administrative support work.
What Your Day Will Look Like
Social Media & Content Creation
Assist with creating and adapting social media content for platforms including TikTok, Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, and X
Research social media trends, teacher conversations, and emerging content formats
Help brainstorm engaging, audience-first content ideas
Assist with influencer and creator research for educator partnerships
Learn platform-specific messaging and audience strategies across channels
Communications & Writing
Support blog writing, customer success stories, thought leadership pieces, and press release development
Conduct interviews and gather quotes for communications projects
Help simplify complex topics into accessible, engaging messaging
Assist with storytelling around educational research, innovation, and AI initiatives
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Potential collaboration and shadowing with marketing, research, operations, and product teams
Participate in brainstorming and planning discussions
Research & Strategic Projects
Assist with research-based storytelling initiatives
Support communications projects related to AI, innovation, and educational technology
Help identify ways to connect audiences to meaningful educational topics and initiatives
Event & Conference Opportunities
Potential opportunity to support conference or event social media coverage
Assist with capturing and creating real-time event content if travel opportunities arise

What Should Be In Your Bookbag
We are looking for someone who is:
Curious, collaborative, and eager to learn
Interested in communications, media, storytelling, policy, research, education, or public engagement
Comfortable writing and communicating ideas clearly
Familiar with social media platforms and internet culture/trends
Organized and able to manage asynchronous work independently
Interested in understanding how organizations connect with audiences and communities
Preferred but not required:
Experience with writing, communications, or social media
Familiarity with Canva, TikTok, Instagram, or LinkedIn content creation
Interest in K-12 education
