What you can expect:

  • Manage a team of Vocational Rehabilitation Specialists, providing return-to-work services across STD and LTD, forensic assessments of employability, and occupational analysis.
  • Ensure the team is achieving or exceeding key performance indicators through observation, coaching, and data-driven insight.
  • Monitor, analyze, and report on team KPIs — leveraging strong Excel skills (formulas, tables, charts, and graphs) to surface trends and tell a clear performance story.
  • Champion new and better ways of working — continually seeking more effective, creative approaches to help claimants return to work and advancing vocational best practices across the team.
  • Lead the team through change with confidence and positivity — helping specialists adapt to and embrace evolving processes while sustaining strong results, high-quality service, and team morale.
  • Serve as a trusted business partner — communicating clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing, across all levels of the organization.
  • Teach, coach, and guide new vocational counselors, sharing deep subject-matter expertise to develop the next generation of talent.
  • Model the efficient, everyday use of AI tools to streamline work and elevate the team’s productivity and impact.
  • Advance the capabilities of the vocational team through participation or leadership of initiatives, both within the unit and cross-functionally.
  • Provide vocational subject-matter expertise in the sales and customer retention cycles.
  • Responsible for recruiting, hiring, and onboarding of diverse talent.

What you’ll need:

  • Master’s degree in vocational rehabilitation or a related field, with certification as a Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC) required.
  • Recognized expertise in the vocational rehabilitation field.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience/capabilities or demonstrated aptitude for leading a team of professionals in the disability insurance industry.
  • Proficiency in KPI reporting and analysis, with excellent Excel skills (formulas, graphs, tables, and charts).
  • A confident, adaptable approach to change — able to stay positive, support the team, and help them implement new ways of working without losing momentum or morale.
  • Comfort with the daily use of AI tools to work more efficiently and effectively.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Experience working with cross-functional business partners in claims, distribution, product, and other expert resources.
  • Experience working with small to national-level customers in the execution of critical services.
  • A track record of innovation and strong results.

It’d be a plus if you had:

  • ADA certification and experience preferred.
  • Previous ADA or RTW case management experience preferred.
  • 3-5 years of leadership experience preferred.

What we offer you:


Prudential is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The salary range for this role is from $106,000.00 to $174,900.00. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills.
  • Market competitive base salaries, with a yearly bonus potential at every level.
