OUR MISSION

We exist to create a more connected, compassionate, and confident experience for people with cancer and those who care for them. We make it easier to get answers, access high-quality care quickly, and feel supported throughout treatment and beyond.

Today, Thyme Care is a market-leading value-based oncology care enabler, partnering with national and regional health plans, providers, and employers to deliver better outcomes and lower costs for thousands of people across the country. Our model combines high-touch human support with powerful technology and AI to bring together everyone involved in a person’s cancer journey: caregivers, oncologists, health plans, and employers.

As a tech-native organization, we believe technology should strengthen the human connection at the center of care. Through data science, automation, and AI, we simplify complexity, improve collaboration, and help care teams focus on what matters most: supporting people through cancer.

Looking ahead, our vision is bold: to become a household name in cancer care, where every person diagnosed asks for Thyme Care by name. If you’re inspired to make cancer care more human and to help reimagine what’s possible, we’d love to meet you. Together, we can build a future where every person with cancer feels truly cared for, in every moment that matters.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As Manager of Quality at Thyme Care, you will own the day-to-day operation and ongoing maturation of Thyme Care’s patient safety and clinical risk program as our care model and membership continue to grow.

You will ensure safety events are consistently identified, escalated, reviewed, remediated, tracked, and translated into meaningful improvements in care. Building on an established program foundation, you will strengthen workflows and controls, improve the reliability of event review and follow-through, identify trends and emerging risks, and help evolve the program toward a more mature model of structured review and prevention.

You will also serve as a clinical quality resource across broader Quality priorities to support NCQA accreditation, annual mock audits, HEDIS/Stars clinical quality gap closure. You will use your RN background to evaluate clinical evidence, data, identify gaps, support remediation, and help ensure Thyme Care’s quality programs are clinically rigorous and operationally sound.

This role requires both strong clinical judgment and strong operational instincts. You should be equally comfortable reviewing a complex patient event, facilitating a root cause analysis, improving an existing workflow, analyzing trends, and leading clinical and operational leaders toward sustainable improvements.

Reporting to the Director of Quality, you’ll partner closely with Clinical, Care Teams, Compliance, Partnership Operations, Product, and Care Delivery Operations.

WHAT YOU’LL DO
Operate & Mature the Patient Safety Program

  • Own day-to-day operation of Thyme Care’s patient safety program, including event intake, review, escalation, documentation, remediation, and follow-through.

  • Maintain and continuously improve the program’s taxonomy, severity framework, policies, workflows, review criteria, and escalation pathways as needs evolve.

  • Identify gaps or friction in the program and recommend practical improvements to strengthen reliability, timeliness, and usability.

  • Reinforce consistent safety practices through staff education, guidance, and ongoing enablement.

  • Help mature the program over time, including structured multidisciplinary review, stronger trend monitoring, and more proactive approaches to clinical risk.

  • Conduct or facilitate clinical audits, root cause analyses, failure point analyses, and other structured investigations.

  • Translate findings into corrective actions, prevention strategies, workflow improvements, and staff education.

  • Monitor safety metrics, incident themes, resolution SLAs, and emerging clinical risks, and prepare monthly reporting for leadership and Quality governance.

Support Clinical Quality, Accreditation & Complaints

  • Serve as a clinical quality resource supporting case management and population health quality measures and contractual quality measures (Stars/HEDIS).

  • Partner with the Complaints program owner on complex investigations and systemic improvement opportunities.

  • Support NCQA accreditation readiness, including annual mock audits, clinical evidence review, documentation validation, identification of gaps, and remediation planning.

  • Support operationalization and monitoring of clinical quality measures, clinical coordination, accreditation, and other clinical quality requirements or standards.

  • Develop or support clinical quality, training, job aids, and enablement based on audit findings, investigations, emerging risks, or identified performance gaps.

  • Contribute clinical expertise to other quality, regulatory, accreditation, and contractual initiatives based on organizational priorities.

WHAT YOU’VE DONE

  • Active, unrestricted RN license.

  • 4+ years of experience in clinical care, healthcare quality, patient safety, clinical risk management, care management, health plan operations, or a related healthcare environment.

  • Experience reviewing clinical events, quality of care concerns, incidents, complaints, or other patient safety matters.

  • Demonstrated ability to conduct structured investigations and translate findings into corrective or preventive actions.

  • Strong clinical documentation, written communication, and critical-thinking skills.

  • Experience developing or implementing healthcare policies, workflows, SOPs, or staff education.

  • Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage both recurring operational work and longer-term program initiatives.

  • Ability to collaborate and influence effectively across clinical and non-clinical teams.

  • Comfort analyzing data and producing recurring quality or safety reports.

  • Proficiency with Google Suite/Excel and comfort learning EHR, reporting, and workflow tools.

NICE TO HAVE

  • Experience with root cause analysis, failure mode/failure point analysis, PDSA/PDCA, or Lean Six Sigma methods.

  • Experience in oncology, care management, population health, or complex/high-risk patient populations.

  • Experience with CMS, Models of Care, NCQA accreditation or regulatory requirements.

  • Experience with member complaints, grievances, quality-of-care investigations, or service recovery.

  • CPHQ, CPPS, Lean Six Sigma, or related quality/patient safety certification.

  • Experience in a startup or value-based care environment.

  • Experience partnering with Product or Data teams to build clinical safety reporting or monitoring tools.

WHAT LEADS TO SUCCESS

Strong Clinical Judgment. You can assess complex clinical situations, distinguish safety concerns from expected variation, and know when and how to escalate.

Patient Safety Mindset. You approach events with curiosity and rigor, seeking to understand systems and contributing factors rather than simply identifying individual errors.

Structured Investigator. You can gather facts, synthesize clinical and operational information, identify root causes, document conclusions, and develop practical recommendations.

Strong Operator & Continuous Improver. You can take ownership of a new program, run it reliably, identify where processes or controls are falling short, and make practical improvements that strengthen quality and safety over time.

Member-First. You consistently connect processes, policies, investigations, and metrics back to the quality and safety of the member experience.

Analytical & Detail-Oriented. You are comfortable tracking events, evaluating patterns, monitoring SLAs, and using data to identify risks and improvement opportunities.

Strong Collaborator. You can work effectively with clinicians, operations teams, Compliance, Product, Data, and senior leaders, including when the subject matter is sensitive.

Calm Under Pressure. You can manage urgent or high-risk situations methodically, communicate clearly, and maintain appropriate confidentiality.
