Job Description:

The Field Engineering Manager leads and supports a team of Field Service Representatives (FSRs) responsible for installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and technical support of systems at customer and operational sites. This role serves as the bridge between engineering, program management, logistics, and field operations to ensure FSRs are technically prepared, properly resourced, and aligned with customer requirements. The Field Engineering Manager drives field execution, resolves escalated technical issues, supports workforce development, and ensures safe, compliant, and high-quality service delivery.

Essential Functions:

• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of an estimated 50 FSRs supporting domestic and international customer sites.
• Coordinate field engineering support for system installation, integration, test, trouble shooting, repair, and sustainment activities.
• Partner with engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, quality, and program teams to resolve field issues and improve product performance.
• Develop deployment plans, staffing models, and support schedules to meet customer and program requirements.
• Monitor (24/7) all emails from FSRs/sites and coordinate with necessary in-house personnel.
• Maintain accurate records of communication for reference related to FSR performance/awards, disciplinary action, and core competencies.
• Conduct weekly telecon’s between various sites/FSRs to include Customers, Program Managers, and Engineering.
• Timely provided required reports to Program Managers and/or external Customers.
• Review and approve timecards, travel expense reports, and payroll.
• Oversee compliance with company policies, contractual obligations, export controls, safety requirements, and customer procedures.
• Support proposal/new business efforts from start to finish. Including Statement of Work (SOW) reviews, deriving requirements, generating estimates, and participate in contract negotiations.
• Support proposal development, cost estimates, manpower planning, and risk assessments for new and existing programs.
• Build and maintain strong customer relationships, serving as a trusted leader.
• Travel as needed to customers, operational, test, and field locations to support deployments and critical events.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.

Preferred Additional Skills:

• 2+ years of experience leading teams, projects, or field support personnel.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced, customer-facing environments.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office
• Ability to travel, including occasional short-notice travel, as required.
• Ability to obtain and maintain any required security clearance, if applicable.
• Experience in aerospace, defense, telecommunications, electronics, mission systems, or other highly regulated technical industries. 
• Experience supporting CONUS and OCONUS deployments/rotations.
• Knowledge of training development, certification programs, and technical workforce planning.

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in California, Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Washington, and the Greater D.C. area, Denver, or NYC areas is $105,500-$196,500. The salary range for this role in Colorado state, Hawaii, Illinois, Maine, Maryland, Minnesota, New York state, Cleveland Ohio, Vermont and Virginia is $91,500-$170,500.
