SCOPE: The Manager, Digital Scripture Data manages Seed Company’s submission of approved Scripture materials to the Digital Bible Library (DBL) and the language data that supports those submissions and related translation and publication work. The role coordinates the preparation, validation, and submission of Scripture text, audio, and video; ensures the accuracy of associated language, project, contributor, rights, and milestone data; and maintains consistency across the DBL, Paratext Registry, Progress Bible, ETEN, and internal systems. Working with Field Operations teams and partner organizations, the manager resolves data and submission issues, tracks progress toward organizational goals, and provides reliable information for planning, reporting, and decision-making.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 

DBL Submission Management

  • Coordinate the preparation, validation, approval, and submission of consultant-approved Scripture text, audio, and video to the DBL.
  • Ensure files, metadata, permissions, rights, contributor information, and organizational attribution are complete, accurate, and compliant with DBL and Paratext Registry requirements.
  • Partner with Field Operations teams and external organizations to identify eligible materials, obtain missing information, resolve submission issues, and verify completed uploads.
  • Track submission status, forecasts, risks, All Access Goal progress, and associated SC points; provide timely reporting to relevant teams and leadership.

Language Data Management

  • Maintain accurate language information—including names, ISO and language-variety codes, population data, alternate names, and project milestones—to support DBL submissions and Seed Company’s translation and publication work.
  • Validate and reconcile language and project information across internal systems, the DBL, Paratext Registry, Progress Bible, and ETEN.
  • Research and resolve missing, duplicate, conflicting, or outdated language records in collaboration with Field Operations teams and partner organizations.
  • Establish and maintain documentation, standards, and data-quality practices that improve the accuracy and usability of language information.
  • Serve as a resource on All Access Goal language status and provide reliable language and milestone data for planning, reporting, grant and funding requests, and organizational decision-making.

Shared Responsibilities

  • Maintain effective working relationships and regular communication with Field Operations teams, leadership, and partner organizations; escalate relationship-level concerns as appropriate.
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures, reference materials, and tracking documentation for DBL submissions and language data.
  • Protect sensitive project, partner, contributor, and rights information in accordance with confidentiality and data-security practices.
  • Stay current on DBL, Paratext Registry, and relevant language-data requirements, tools, and best practices.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:

This position will supervise 1-3 staff members on the Digital Scripture and Language-Data team. [MM1] [2] 

OTHER DUTIES: 

  • Attend and participate in a variety of meetings and task force groups as directed and maintain the required level of knowledge pertaining to operating procedures, requirements, processes, and policies.
  • Lead and/or participate in projects or task force groups that focus on issues having organization-wide impact.
  • Perform or assist with any assignments as required or directed.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This position operates primarily in a professional or home-office environment. Domestic or international travel may occasionally be required to support Field Operations coordination. Travel may include locations with limited internet access, environmental controls, transportation infrastructure, or medical assistance.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Occasional exertion up to 10 pounds, lifting a box of paper, moving chairs, tables, and sliding doors.

TRAVEL:

Up to 3-6 weeks of travel per year, both domestic and international

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Strong faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and a God-honoring lifestyle; passion for God’s Word and its provision for every people group; commitment to championing Seed Company’s vision, mission, and values.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience managing data, workflows, projects, tracking, forecasting, or reporting.
  • At least 1 year of experience providing team leadership, coaching others, or supervising staff preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and data sets accurately.
  • Strong written, verbal, and cross-cultural communication skills, including the ability to teach processes and concepts to others.
  • Ability to build productive working relationships with internal teams and partner organizations and to handle sensitive information confidentially.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel; familiarity with Monday.com preferred.
  • Familiarity with the DBL, Paratext Registry, or language-data systems preferred; willingness and ability to develop proficiency required.
