Role overview

Every Hilo Band that reaches a customer on time is one more person who can start taking control of their blood pressure. As Logistics Manager you own our day- to- day D2C logistics execution end to end: Webshop and Amazon across the USA and Canada markets. That covers daily fulfilment and outbound logistics, inbound transportation from our factories to regional warehouses, last mile delivery, returns, and the daily relationship with our 3PLs and carriers. Our network has grown to six third party logistics partners worldwide, including our newest partner in the US. Your impact comes from running the operation superbly well every day, resolving issues before customers feel them, and steadily making the flows you own smoother, faster and more cost efficient. You contribute to our wider logistics strategy, while overall network architecture sits with Operations leadership. You work as an individual contributor without direct reports, in close collaboration with Manufacturing, Finance, Sales, Quality and Customer Service, with room to grow as the network scales.

Location: US-based, preferably East Coast, must be authorised to work in the United States, with regular traveling. The role requires minimum half-day working hours to overlap with our European-based team (CET), and travel to team and business events quarterly (or as needed). 

Core responsibilities

End to end D2C logistics operations

• Own end to end D2C logistics for Webshop and Amazon across the USA and Canada.
• Run daily fulfilment and outbound logistics from order processing through final delivery, including last mile, returns and issue resolution.
• Resolve exceptions fast and cleanly so customers never feel the friction behind the scenes.
• Contribute to planning and implementing the overall logistics strategy.

3PL and carrier management

• Manage and scale a multi 3PL network, including ramping up our newly launched US operation.
• Own SLAs, performance reviews and capacity planning across logistics partners.
• Be the daily operational contact for 3PLs and carriers, building relationships based on trust and clear expectations.

Inbound and international transportation

• Own inbound transportation from our factories, for example in China and Vietnam, to regional warehouses.
• Lead inbound carrier selection, route design, rate negotiation and cost to serve optimisation.
• Coordinate freight booking, shipping schedules and handover to logistics partners.
• Manage customs clearance processes and import documentation.

Product integrity and inventory execution

• Ensure product integrity for devices that are sensitive to temperature, humidity and pressure.
• Maintain inventory visibility across warehouses and sales channels.
• Coordinate replenishment to avoid both stockouts and excess inventory.

Reporting and collaboration

• Define and track logistics KPIs such as OTIF, lead time, cost per shipment and return rate, and report them so the business can act on them.
• Drive continuous improvement of the operations you run.
• Collaborate closely with Manufacturing, Finance, Sales, Quality and Customer Service.

Requirements

Background & Experience

Essential

• 5+ years in logistics, fulfilment or supply chain operations, ideally in D2C or ecommerce and international distribution.
• Proven experience managing 3PLs, carriers and cross border shipments.
• Solid working knowledge of last mile delivery, Amazon fulfilment and international shipping fundamentals.
• Hands on experience with logistics or ERP tools, and strong analytical skills.
• Excellent English, written and spoken.
• USA based, and willing to travel occasionally to warehouses in Switzerland, Germany, UK, Canada, Australia and the USA.

Nice to have

• BSc in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Logistics or a related field. Equivalent practical experience counts just as much.
• Chinese.
• Experience in medical device, pharmaceutical or other quality regulated logistics.
• Experience setting up logistics operations in a new market.

What success looks like

In your first 90 days

• Day 30  You know our network end to end: every 3PL, carrier, lane and system, and you are the go to person for daily operational questions.
• Day 60  You run daily fulfilment and inbound execution independently, you have taken over the 3PL and carrier relationships, and you have named the three biggest sources of friction in the current flow.
• Day 90  Logistics KPI reporting runs on your cadence, your first improvement is live and measurable, and you are driving the ramp up of our US operation.

After one year

• Orders are fulfilled accurately and delivered on time, consistently and in Americas.
• Operational issues are identified early and resolved before customers are affected.
• Our US operation is running to SLA and scaling smoothly with demand.
• Cost per shipment and inbound cost to serve are trending down with no trade off in service.
• 3PLs and carriers experience us as a well run, well organised partner, and the customer delivery experience is consistently positive.

Compensation & Benefits 

The base salary range for this role is 125,000–140,000 USD, depending on experience and location, plus a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, vision, and paid time off.
