AI Summary

The Lifecycle Marketing Associate is responsible for building, testing, and deploying email and SMS campaigns within HubSpot to support marketing strategies. They will also manage audience segmentation, maintain the email calendar, and monitor campaign performance metrics to ensure operational success.

So What's the Job?

As the Lifecycle Marketing Associate contractor, you will provide executional support to the Sr. Brand Manager, turning the lifecycle marketing and promo strategy into deployed reality. The Associate builds, QAs, and sends email and SMS campaigns in HubSpot, keeps the lifecycle nurture program updated/running day-to-day, and grows into owning audience segmentation over time. This is a hands-on execution role, not a strategy-setting one — strategy is set by the Sr. Brand Manager; this role makes it happen on schedule and error-free.

  • Campaign Execution & QA: Build, QA, and deploy email and SMS campaigns in HubSpot—including promos, webinar sequences, nurture flows, and one-off sends—on schedule and error-free.
  • Testing & Optimization: Design and run A/B tests across email/SMS campaigns and audience segmentation to optimize performance.
  • Email Calendar Management: Build and maintain an organized month-to-month email calendar to ensure strategic clarity and operational alignment across the organization.
  • Lifecycle Nurture Execution: Execute and manage the email/SMS lifecycle nurture framework (0–30, 30–60, 60–90, and 90+ day segments) as defined by the Sr. Brand Manager.
  • Nurture Program Development: Build and launch new nurture workflows to support evolving business and marketing needs.
  • List Hygiene & Segmentation: Build, maintain, and continuously improve audience segmentation and list hygiene as HubSpot data models and properties evolve.
  • Webinar Comms Management: Support the six-email webinar communications sequence (from registration confirmation through replay delivery) end to end.
  • Deployment QA Discipline: Thoroughly QA every send before deployment, including link verification, personalization tokens, segmentation/list targeting, and deliverability fundamentals.
  • Promo Calendar Support: Assist with promo calendar execution—including banners, send scheduling, and adherence to payment links and pricing structures.
  • Performance Monitoring & Reporting: Track core campaign metrics (open rates, click-through rates, conversion rates) and flag anomalies or opportunities to the Sr. Brand Manager. Pull and analyze email performance data on a month-to-month basis to track overall email health, deliverability, and channel engagement trends
  • Cross-Functional Alignment: Partner with the broader marketing and social media teams to ensure campaign timing and messaging remain cohesive across all channels.

What is ISSA/HCI looking for?

  • Hands-on HubSpot Expertise: Experience building and deploying email/SMS campaigns and automated workflows directly in HubSpot (hands-on execution, not observational experience).
  • Track Record of Execution: Proven ability to take a brief and deliver a fully built, thoroughly tested, and deployed campaign with minimal supervision.
  • Strong Segmentation Aptitude: Comfortable working directly with audience lists, custom properties, and behavior-based segmentation logic.
  • High Attention to Detail & QA Discipline: Meticulous approach to quality control—success in this role is judged on error-free sends, not just on-time deployments.
  • Exceptional Organizational Skills: Ability to keep campaigns, timelines, and deliverables structured and on track in a fast-paced environment.
  • Adaptability: Comfortable navigating a fast-moving, evolving marketing calendar with shifting priorities and tight deadlines.
  • Proactive Communication: Clear, effective communicator who actively flags blockers, risks, and QA issues well in advance of send dates.

Nice to have:

  • Prior experience specifically with lifecycle/nurture email programs (not just one-off campaign sends).
  • Familiarity with email deliverability fundamentals (sender reputation, list hygiene, spam triggers).
  • Experience supporting webinar or live-event communications sequences.
  • Exposure to SMS marketing platforms/compliance basics (opt-in/opt-out handling).

Success in this role looks like:

  • Every scheduled send goes out on time, correctly segmented, and free of broken links or personalization errors.
  • The Sr. Brand Manager can hand off a campaign brief and trust it will be built and deployed without rework.
  • Growing ownership of segmentation strategy — from executing existing segments to proposing improvements.
