Senior Provider Recruiter (Lead)

Position Summary:

The Senior Provider Recruiter is a team leader and subject matter expert overseeing recruitment activity within an assigned division. This role supports a team of Provider Recruiters and ensures alignment with divisional hiring goals, recruitment strategy, and Oak Street Health’s mission to deliver transformative value-based care. In addition to managing a regional book of requisitions, the Senior Provider Recruiter provides mentorship, training, and operational oversight to ensure a high-performing, metrics-driven recruiting team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage provider recruitment activities within a designated division, ensuring timely fulfillment of requisitions for physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and behavioral health specialists.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clinical/regional leaders and hiring managers for workforce planning, candidate pipelines, and market intelligence.
  • Supervise and support a team of Provider Recruiters; coach on best practices, sourcing strategies, interview preparation, and candidate experience.
  • Ensure consistent execution of full-cycle recruitment, from job posting and sourcing through offer acceptance and seamless handoff to pre/onboarding.
  • Track team performance using key performance indicators (KPIs) including time-to-fill, screen-to-offer, and requisition aging.
  • Proactively identify and resolve bottlenecks or process gaps within the division; escalate broader issues to management when needed.
  • Support provider onboarding and early-tenure success by ensuring seamless transitions and capturing feedback on initial experience.
  • Monitor division-level risk indicators (e.g., vacancy spikes, process delays) and escalate as appropriate.
  • Operationalize new enterprise-wide programs, pilots, or process updates within the division, serving as a conduit for feedback and best practices between field and national leadership.
  • Own division-level reporting and present hiring trends, risks, and recommendations to managers and participate in governance or workflow improvement initiatives.
  • Support escalated or high-priority searches, including passive sourcing and outreach in competitive markets.
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition, Credentialing, Contracting, and Pre/Onboarding to resolve bottlenecks and maintain service excellence.
  • Provide training and support for new recruiters and ensure alignment with Oak Street Health processes, compliance expectations, and DEI goals.
  • Represent Oak Street Health at high-level conferences, academic events, and specialty networking opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • 3–5 years of healthcare or provider recruitment experience required.
  • CPRP certification preferred.
  • Prior experience supervising or mentoring junior recruiters strongly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of applicant tracking systems (Workday preferred).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to influence across functions.
  • Deep understanding of sourcing techniques, provider market trends, motivators, and retention strategies.
  • Data-driven with strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding recruitment goals.

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$46,988.00 - $112,200.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.  The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.
