The Lead Instructor will deliver virtual and classroom training on federal financial management, budget processes, and accounting standards to federal staff. They are responsible for tailoring course content to specific agency systems and maintaining materials in accordance with current laws and policies.
The EiRAM Group is seeking a Lead Instructor to deliver Federal Financial Management training to federal government financial management staff. The instructor will lead virtual training sessions, tailor course content to the needs of the federal agency, and ensure training materials remain current with applicable laws, policies, and guidance.
What you will do:
Deliver the core course in virtual and classroom settings, covering federal financial management history, budget formulation, congressional approval and types of appropriations, budget execution and obligation tracking, contracting roles and the acquisition lifecycle, financial operations and the Prompt Payment Act, federal accounting and the U.S. Government Standard General Ledger, internal control, ethics, and federal auditing.
Tailor lectures, scenarios, and interactive exercises to USMS financial systems and operating environment rather than generic federal examples.
Update lesson plans, study guides, materials, and the evaluation survey as laws, OMB guidance, DOJ policy, participant feedback, or USMS priorities change.
Administer the end-of-course survey and support compilation of results within five business days after each class.
Teach using Microsoft Teams, Zoom, or Adobe Connect, delivered through a standard browser (Microsoft Edge or Google Chrome)
Education/Experience:
Bachelor’s degree with 10 years’ experience
Substantial hands-on experience in federal financial management activities, concepts, and techniques, including appropriations and fiscal law, budget execution, federal accounting standards, internal controls, and audit.
Certified Defense Financial Manager (CDFM), Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM), CPA, or CDFM-A, preferred
Experience teaching appropriations law, internal control and enterprise risk management under OMB Circular A-123, or Generally Accepted Government Auditing Standards.
