Omnicare is a leading provider of pharmacy services to long-term care facilities nationwide, supporting skilled nursing facilities, assisted living communities, and other institutional care settings. Following the sale of Omnicare by CVS Health, the Lead Director - Pharmacy Regulatory Affairs - Omnicare, will support Omnicare and its continued operations as an independent, standalone organization.  Candidates should be aware that this role will not remain within CVS Health following the transaction.  The individual hired into this role will be employed by Omnicare and will contribute to shaping the future of our organization during this exciting period of growth and transformation.

Responsibilities include:

  • Build relationships with Boards of Pharmacy

  • Review BOP proposed rules for potential comment and changes/keep current on BOP regulations and guidelines/state review for policy changes

  • Support questions from the field and review of regulatory questions and provide appropriate feedback while informing and/or educating PICs.

  • Point of Contact for BOP audits/actions/citations and assist PIC with response and relationship with BOP when submitting a Plan of Action.

  • Interpret proposed and existing pharmacy regulations.

  • Advise organization leadership on how regulations affect pharmacy operations.

  • Develop regulatory analyses and comment letters.

  • Represent Omnicare with external regulatory stakeholders.

  • Work with Legal, Corporate Affairs, Pharmacy and operating businesses.

  • Influence regulators and internal executives without direct authority.

  • Take ownership of individual state regulatory initiatives.

  • Mentoring other internal colleagues.

  • Help shape Omnicare broader pharmacy regulatory strategy.

  • Monitoring Board of Pharmacy meetings across the country, including proposed rules to ensure proposed rules are not promulgated which could result in a negative impact to the business.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or equivalent degree from an accredited College/School of Pharmacy.

  • Active Registered Pharmacist license in good standing.

  • Minimum 10 years of experience collaborating with Boards of Pharmacy and navigating pharmacy regulatory matters.

  • Deep knowledge of pharmacy laws, regulations, and compliance requirements, including long-term care (LTC) pharmacy and healthcare settings.

  • Demonstrated experience supporting Board of Pharmacy reviews, regulatory research, policy analysis, and interpretation of pharmacy regulations.

  • Established national relationships and credibility with Board of Pharmacy staff, board members, regulators, and industry stakeholders.

Leadership & Stakeholder Management

  • Proven ability to influence and drive outcomes across organizations, both with and without direct authority.

  • Strong executive presence with exceptional verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Experience engaging with Boards of Pharmacy, regulatory agencies, industry associations, coalitions, academic institutions, Legal, and Corporate Affairs teams.

  • Natural ability to build trusted relationships with Board members and regulatory officials.

Travel

  • Ability to travel up to 40%, based on Board of Pharmacy meeting schedules and regulatory engagement requirements.

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$100,000.00 - $231,540.00


This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.  The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.  This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.  This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
