Position Summary

The AI Solutions Engineer is responsible for designing, building, deploying, and maintaining high-impact, production-grade internal AI agents and agentic applications that solve meaningful business problems across SpartanX.

This position serves as the dedicated technical builder within a stakeholder-and-builder model, partnering closely with Product, IT, Analytics, and business stakeholders to transform prioritized use cases into functional prototypes and production-ready internal solutions.

The AI Solutions Engineer will leverage AI-native workflows for the majority of their work and serve as the division's subject matter expert (SME) in Agentic Engineering.

This role requires strong technical execution, independent problem-solving, cross-functional collaboration, and the ability to translate business requirements into secure, scalable, and maintainable AI-powered applications.

Core Responsibilities

AI Agent Development & Engineering

• Design, build, test, and continuously improve internal AI agents and agentic applications that address prioritized business needs.
• Develop production-grade AI solutions that improve operational efficiency, automate workflows, and support business objectives.
• Translate product requirements and business use cases into functional technical implementations.
• Design and implement effective prompts, tool orchestration, agent workflows, and application logic.
• Leverage AI-native development workflows to accelerate engineering, testing, and solution delivery.
• Evaluate emerging AI capabilities and apply appropriate technologies to improve solution performance and reliability.

Systems Integration & Technical Implementation

• Integrate AI agents with internal business systems, applications, and data sources.
• Develop solutions that interact with CRM platforms, document repositories, knowledge bases, communication tools, and other internal resources.
• Collaborate with IT, Data, and Platform teams to establish secure and reliable integrations.
• Ensure applications are designed for maintainability, scalability, and operational effectiveness.
• Identify technical dependencies, integration challenges, and potential implementation risks.
• Support troubleshooting and resolution of technical issues affecting deployed applications.

Product Development & Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Partner with Product, IT, Analytics, and business stakeholders to understand operational challenges and identify technical solutions.
• Translate prioritized business requirements into working prototypes and production-ready applications.
• Collaborate with stakeholders throughout development, testing, deployment, and refinement.
• Communicate technical capabilities, limitations, dependencies, and implementation considerations clearly to nontechnical audiences.
• Incorporate stakeholder feedback to improve usability, functionality, and business value.
• Maintain alignment between technical execution and organizational priorities.

Deployment Infrastructure & Application Ownership

• Serve as the primary owner of deployment infrastructure supporting internal agentic applications.
• Lead the transition of early-stage concepts and prototypes into reliable, maintainable internal products.
• Establish and maintain appropriate deployment, monitoring, testing, and support practices.
• Collaborate with IT and platform stakeholders to ensure secure, compliant, and scalable application environments.
• Monitor application performance, reliability, and operational effectiveness.
• Identify opportunities to strengthen infrastructure, streamline deployment processes, and improve application stability.

Technical Leadership & Continuous Improvement

• Serve as SpartanX's subject matter expert in Agentic Engineering.
• Provide technical guidance regarding AI agent architecture, implementation approaches, and emerging technologies.
• Stay current with AI development tools, agent frameworks, orchestration methods, and industry best practices.
• Evaluate new technologies based on practical business value, security, scalability, and maintainability.
• Promote responsible and effective adoption of AI-native engineering practices.
• Recommend improvements to internal AI development standards, workflows, and technical capabilities.

Qualifications

Required

• Demonstrated experience developing and deploying AI-powered applications, intelligent agents, or workflow automation solutions.
• Strong software engineering skills and experience building production-ready applications.
• Practical knowledge of large language models (LLMs), prompt engineering, tool orchestration, and agentic workflows.
• Experience integrating applications with APIs, enterprise systems, and internal data sources.
• Understanding of application architecture, deployment infrastructure, and production support.
• Ability to translate business requirements into effective technical solutions.
• Experience taking technical concepts from prototype through production deployment.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage competing priorities.
• Ability to work independently, exercise sound technical judgment, and take ownership of deliverables.

Preferred

• Experience with agentic AI frameworks and orchestration platforms.
• Experience developing AI applications integrated with CRM, knowledge management, or enterprise communication systems.
• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure, application monitoring, and deployment automation.
• Experience implementing security and access controls for internal AI applications.
• Experience building AI solutions for operational efficiency and business process automation.
• Experience serving as a technical lead or subject matter expert for emerging technologies.
