Kettle Hotline Operator

Position Summary

The Kettle Hotline Operator provides after-hours and weekend customer service to volunteers supporting The Salvation Army’s Red Kettle fundraising campaign.  The seasonal position runs approximately from mid-November to Christmas.

$11.41 to $18 per hour

28 hours a week, Monday to Friday from 4pm to 7:30pm and Saturdays from 9am to 7:30 pm

This position is a temporary, seasonal position from November 14th to December 24th, 2026. 

Essential Functions (approximate time spent)

• Provide exceptional customer service to callers using the Kettle hotline, answering all calls within 3 rings (%).
• Professionally respond to and assist callers with questions, concerns, and feedback (%).
• Resolve concerns or appropriately elevate the concern in a timely manner (%).
• Promptly relay concerns and successes to the appropriate department/unit leader (%).
• Maintain accurate, up-to-date entries of all calls (%).

 Education and Experience

• High School diploma or equivalent required.

• Willing to support the philosophy, goals, and mission of The Salvation Army.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• High level of honor in dealing with confidential information.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. 

Working Conditions

• Sedentary work with prolonged periods of sitting and computer use.
• Regular use of a computer, Microsoft Office, telephone, and other standard office technology.
• This is a primarily remote position, with the majority of work performed from a remote work location. Occasional on-site work may be required based on business needs.
• Must be able to communicate effectively with employees, customers, and other contacts through telephone, email, and virtual communication platforms for reasonable periods.
