This is a fantastic opportunity for an early-career engineer to grow their technical expertise, work with cutting-edge technologies, and make a real impact from day one.
As a Transport Network Operations Engineer, you will provide technical support for transport network environments, working with industry-leading technologies and equipment. In this role you will play a key role in:
Monitoring and analysing transport network alarms and events, identifying primary faults and supporting the diagnosis of incidents escalated from first-line teams, with a focus on WDM/DWDM and SDH technologies.
Reviewing network performance parameters such as optical power (Tx/Rx), BER, Q-factor and interface status, to assess the health of the network and support timely resolution of degradations.
Executing guided remote diagnostics and recovery actions in line with approved procedures and change control processes, ensuring traceability and accurate documentation of all actions taken.
Collaborating with senior engineers, vendors and field teams (including Huawei and Nokia) to support the coordination and resolution of incidents, maintenance windows and post-activity validations.
Contributing to knowledge sharing by documenting findings, updating checklists, and supporting the continuous improvement of operational procedures within the NOC/SNOC environment.
We are looking for a motivated junior engineer who is eager to learn and grow in the field of transport network operations. You will bring:
Foundational knowledge of transport network technologies, including WDM/DWDM and/or SDH, with some exposure to optical networks and fibre infrastructure gained through studies or up to 1 year of hands-on experience.
An analytical and structured mindset, with the ability to follow technical procedures, interpret alarm data and contribute to fault diagnosis in a methodical way.
Good communication skills, with the ability to document technical actions clearly and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, clients and vendors.
A proactive learning attitude, with a genuine interest in telecommunications operations, continuous improvement and developing expertise in Huawei and/or Nokia equipment families.
Basic technical English is an advantage, as is any exposure to NOC/SNOC operational environments or relevant academic or certification background in networking or telecoms.
