(Junior) Financial accountant

Own the day-to-day accounting for Headline's US management entities: accounts payable in Tipalti, travel and expense in Navan, and the books in NetSuite.

The role

You take the payables and expense cycle end-to-end, keep the general ledger in NetSuite accurate and current, and carry out the month-end close for several US management companies. You will be part of a global team.

What you'll do

• Run accounts payable end-to-end in Tipalti for US entities: vendor onboarding and validation, invoice coding and approval routing, payment runs, and W-9 collection and 1099 filing at year-end.

• Process and review travel and expense in Navan: policy compliance, corporate card reconciliation, employee reimbursements, and clean coding back to the right entity and cost center.

• Maintain the general ledger in NetSuite across multiple US entities: journal entries, accruals, prepaids, fixed assets and depreciation, and intercompany entries and invoices.

• Own month-end close: bank and credit card reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliations with supporting schedules, and the close checklist itself.

• Support cash management: payment scheduling, bank portals, wire preparation, and short-term cash forecasting for the entities you own.

• Improve how the work gets done. Automate what Tipalti, Navan, and NetSuite can automate, write down the processes that only live in someone's head, and strengthen controls as the US team grows.

Who you are

You are an accountant who reconciles because leaving something unreconciled would bother you. You are three years into your career, ready to own a full close rather than a single account, and you would rather ask a direct question early than deliver a surprise late. In a small team, there is nowhere for work to hide, and that is the part you like.

Specifically, you bring:

• 2-3 years in accounting, in public accounting, in-house, or a mix of both. Experience in venture capital, private equity, asset management, or professional services is useful but not required.

• Hands-on experience in NetSuite, or another mid-market ERP with a clear willingness to learn NetSuite quickly.

• Familiarity with an AP automation platform and a T&E platform. Tipalti and Navan specifically are a plus; the ability to learn a system properly matters more.

• Strong Excel or Google Sheets skills, and a habit of documenting how you got to a number, strong interest in AI automation

• A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. CPA, or progress toward it, is welcome and not required.
