You are someone who gets a quiet satisfaction from fixing things that are broken and making systems run better than they did yesterday. Maybe you spent your degree writing Python scripts to automate tedious tasks, or you stayed up late debugging a PowerShell issue because you wanted to understand why it failed, not just that it failed. You think in terms of process of elimination. When something goes wrong, you do not panic or guess. You narrow it down, test your hypothesis, and move methodically until you find the answer.

You are comfortable in Linux, Windows, or whatever the task requires. Switching between operating systems does not slow you down because you understand the fundamentals underneath. You have written scripts, whether for coursework or side projects, and you know the difference between code that works once and code that actually solves a recurring problem.

Customer service does not feel like a chore to you. You understand that internal customers are still customers, and when an engineer needs help getting back into their environment, your job is to solve the problem clearly and completely, not just close a ticket. At Synopsys, you will work on infrastructure that supports engineering teams building the technology behind AI, autonomous vehicles, and the next generation of chips.

What You'll Be Doing

• Design, deploy, and manage on-premises and cloud infrastructure platforms including hypervisors and hyper-converged systems that support global engineering access and development services
• Investigate production issues from the ground up, identify root causes, and resolve them in a way that prevents recurrence
• Work on IT infrastructure projects from initial design through deployment, collaborating with global IT teams across the US, Canada, Europe, and India
• Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 support for Citrix infrastructure and related resources, troubleshooting issues for internal engineering customers in real time
• Automate repetitive processes using scripting languages like Bash, PowerShell, or Python to improve reliability and reduce manual work
• Collaborate with engineering services teams to understand their workflows and deliver infrastructure solutions that actually improve their productivity
• Support both Linux and Windows environments, moving between operating systems as the infrastructure requires

What You'll Need

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field
• Hands-on experience working across multiple operating systems, including Linux and Windows
• Ability to write and debug scripts in at least one language such as Bash, PowerShell, or Python, whether from coursework, internships, or personal projects
• Strong troubleshooting skills rooted in a methodical, process-of-elimination approach to problem solving
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
• Experience with AI tools or platforms is a plus
• Exposure to DevOps tools, cloud platforms, or infrastructure automation beyond coursework is a plus

• You do not need to know everything before you start, you are comfortable learning a new environment quickly by reading documentation, asking questions, and testing things yourself
• When you resolve an issue, you document what you did so the next person who hits the same problem does not have to start from scratch
• You work well independently but you also know when to pull in a teammate because the problem is bigger than one person

The Team You'll Be Part Of

You will join a global IT engineering services team supporting Citrix infrastructure and related resources across multiple time zones. The team is distributed across the US, Canada, Europe, and India, and you will collaborate with teammates in all of these locations. This is a service-based role focused on reliability, support, and continuous improvement of infrastructure that engineering teams depend on every day. You will start with Tier 1 support and grow into Tier 2 responsibilities as you learn the environment and build expertise in the systems and workflows your team manages.
