Position Summary

As a Manager in the Deloitte Technology-US (DT-US) Office of the CIO (OCIO) PMO team you will play a key role in support of the PMO and the use of project management practices and methodologies across DT-US to enable world-class delivery of our firm’s internal technology programs.

The DT-US PMO team is part of the Office of the CIO (OCIO) and reports to the US OCIO Leader. The OCIO leads the development and implementation for technology strategy at Deloitte and drives the strategic initiatives to build market leading technology capabilities. DT-US powers IT for Deloitte’s 175K+ professionals while supporting business priorities and transformational initiatives in areas such as AI, Cloud, and Cyber.

Work you’ll do

As the DT-US PMO Operations Manager, you will lead the PMO Operations team and own the processes, tools, and reporting that give DT-US service area leaders and PMO leadership timely insight into portfolio status, risks, and issues. You will serve as the process owner and administrator for the ServiceNow SPM module, design AI and automation solutions that create efficiency and repeatability across program management, and maintain the reusable templates, tools, and governance frameworks PMO makes available to teams across DT-US where PMO is not directly deployed. You will also be available to step into short-term, critical needs across DT-US to help teams stand up program and project management processes and tooling.

As the DT-US PMO Operations Manager, you will build and demonstrate strong competency and business knowledge across PMO Operations. As the sole leader of the Operations team, you are accountable for team direction, coaching, performance feedback, and overall PMO service quality. This includes managing the team's budget and resource assignments, leading performance management, and overseeing training and certification requirements.

Responsibilities include:

  • Team Leadership: Lead and manage the PMO Operations team as its sole leader, providing direction, coaching, and performance feedback, and owning overall team service quality.
  • Budget & Resource Management: Analyze the PMO Operations budget and manage resource assignments across the team to ensure appropriate coverage across programs.
  • Performance Management: Own the performance management cycle for the PMO team.
  • Learning & Development: Identify learning & development opportunities and manage certification requirements (e.g., PMP) for the PMO team.
  • Team Communications & Events: Own recurring PMO team communications, including monthly all-hands meetings and any in-person team events.
  • Portfolio Reporting & Insight: Own portfolio-level reporting, working with program managers to deliver timely, accurate insight into program status, risks, dependencies, and decisions to DT-US service area leaders and PMO leadership.
  • Governance Support: Maintain PMO governance standards and processes that support consistent program and project delivery across DT-US.
  • ServiceNow SPM Process Ownership: Serve as the process owner and administrator for the ServiceNow SPM module, with elevated access to configure, maintain, and evolve PMO's use of the platform.
  • AI & Automation: Design AI and automation solutions that create efficiency and repeatability in program management, including reporting, planning, and knowledge management.
  • Reusable PM Assets: Develop and maintain the templates, tools, and governance frameworks PMO makes available to teams across DT-US where PMO is not directly deployed.
  • Short-Term Critical Support: Step into short-term, critical needs across DT-US to help teams stand up program and project management processes and tooling.
  • Process Improvement: Evaluate current PMO processes and recommend improvements to increase team efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Stakeholder Interaction: Interact with senior leaders, prepare presentations on PMO strategy and performance, and manage stakeholder relationships.
  • Quality Management: Evaluate and maintain quality management standards within the PMO.
  • Travel Requirements: Ability to travel 0-10%, predominantly remote with the option of working from home or a nearby Deloitte office.

Required Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of relevant experience in Project/Program Management working on large, complex, cross-functional IT initiatives utilizing a structured project management methodology and formal tools/approaches (PMBOK, Prince2, etc)
  • 3+ years of experience managing full lifecycle IT projects including overseeing the strategy / business case development, developing the implementation plan to support the business case, and driving the implementation of the plan to deliver the final program objectives
    • Recent experience using generative AI tools (e.g., prompt design, workflow automation) to improve program reporting, documentation, or process efficiency
  • 1+ year of people/process management experience including but not limited to overseeing and mentoring numerous other PMs, Project Coordinators, etc.
  • 3+ years of project / program financial management (e.g., Planning, Forecasting, Budgeting, Business Case Development, etc.) in addition to experience in the planning, estimation, resource management, project tracking, scope control, risk and issues management as well as stakeholder relationship management.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Administration or equivalent educational and/or equivalent relevant professional experience
  • Ability to travel 0-10%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve; this role is predominantly remote with the option to work from home or a nearby Deloitte office
  • Limited immigration sponsorship may be available

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PMP Certification
  • 1+ year of SPM module administration experience
  • Experience working with MS Planner Plan 3 is highly preferred
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a matrixed professional services firm OR consulting
  • Strategic and critical thinker with the ability to make connections across programs and logically structure issues and determine recommended resolutions
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills and strong executive presence.
  • Strong MS PowerPoint skills with proven record of creating high impact, audience-specific presentations.
  • Self-starter comfortable taking the lead and managing multiple initiatives with an ability to effectively collaborate across teams
  • Detail-oriented with ability to plan, prioritize, and make decisions on multiple projects

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $102,500-$171,000.

You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
