As such, the candidate must demonstrate the ability to research, evaluate, and develop understanding across a wide range of industries, markets, and investment strategies. An entrepreneurial mindset, strong sense of ownership, and effective communication and self‑management skills are essential. This position ideally requires a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience and offers the opportunity to grow in responsibility and scope over time. Exceptional candidates with shorter experience may also be considered.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Lead and, as appropriate support, investment due diligence across asset classes including equity, hedge funds, fixed income, private equity, and others.
- Prepare analysis and materials for investment committee review and presentations.
- Attend regular diligence meetings and calls with current and potential investment managers.
- Assist with the portfolio construction, reporting, and ongoing management of investment strategies.
- Support the preparation of internal and external investment communications, including presentations, commentaries, and investment reports.
- Support responses to client‑related investment inquiries and reporting needs.
- Represent the investment team in external meetings with clients and other constituents.
Required Education, Skills & Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree required (finance preferred)
- Minimum 5 years of full-time investment experience at an RIA, MFO, endowment/foundation, or similar institution.
- Chartered Financial Analyst™ (CFA) designation preferred.
- Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills; comfort with learning analytical software systems such as Bloomberg, Addepar, FactSet and Morningstar Direct.
- Strong analytical mindset with demonstrated investment judgment and a sustained interest in investments.
- Ability to invest alongside clients, including in private equity and hedge fund allocations.
- Highly self-motivated with the ability to manage projects independently.
- Ability to collaborate and contribute effectively to a high‑performing team.
- Ability to exude the True North core values.
- Must consent to and have favorable credit report and background check.
