Humana’s Corporate Communications organization is seeking an Internal Communications Lead to support the Technology organization as part of the Internal Communications Team. In this role, you will serve as a trusted communications advisor to high-profile business partners as they make and execute decisions that drive the business forward. You will work closely with business partners and teammates at all levels of the Technology and Communications teams to prepare for and manage Technology-wide business initiatives and messaging, including topics related to emerging technologies such as AI.
In addition to providing strategic counsel, you will play a hands-on role in building and executing the team’s annual communications plan. Throughout the year, you will direct a broad range of communication activities across a variety of channels to maximize message clarity, consistency, engagement, and effectiveness.
This role requires someone who is energized by challenges, complex subject matter, and critical thinking. The successful candidate will excel at managing relationships, adapting to changing circumstances, and bringing a growth mindset to complex work.
Key Role Functions
- Lead communications strategy for initiatives within Humana Technology, implementing tactics that prioritize message delivery and employee engagement within the team and across the broader organization
- Advise teams and leaders on best practices and proven internal communication approaches that enable successful transformation, including the tactical plans and communications materials needed to support them
- Counsel business partners on communication strategies and execution, recommending innovative ways for teams to connect with associates, leaders, and key stakeholders
- Develop change communication strategies, plans, and narratives to drive message alignment and consistency across Technology and the enterprise
- Establish discipline around measurement and outcomes reporting, setting and measuring against KPIs to inform decision-making and evaluate success
- Execute digital content strategies and manage content across internal digital channels
- Produce executive-level communications and support executive events
- Translate Technology strategy into effective messaging that aligns with broader Humana goals, inspires Technology associates, and positions Technology as a thought leader in the digital space
- Serve as a Technology communications subject matter expert and consultative resource for the broader Corporate Communications Team

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in journalism, communications, public relations, or a relevant field
- 10+ years of recent experience in corporate, employee, or technology communications, with a focus on driving enterprise-wide change and transformation
- Strong track record of developing successful strategies and content for multiple internal communication channels
- Proficient in Microsoft Suite with demonstrated expertise in PowerPoint
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in employee communication platforms such as: Politemail or Poppulo
- Experience with technology and AI communications, or other large-scale change and transformation work within a corporate, healthcare, or agency setting
- Background in healthcare communications
Additional Information
- Candidates may be asked to provide examples of recent employee-facing executive communications, presentations, emerging technology communications, and leader resources
- This is a remote role within the US, candidates will be required to work Eastern Standard Time business hours
- This role will report a Director of Corporate Communications.
Work at Home Requirements: To ensure Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees’ ability to work effectively, the self-provided internet service of Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees must meet the following criteria: At minimum, a download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps is required; wireless, wired cable or DSL connection is suggested. In certain roles, the minimum recommended internet speed required by Humana may not be sufficient for business needs. Humana reserves the right to require associates to upgrade their internet service if necessary. Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information.
Travel: While this is a remote position, occasional travel to Humana's offices for training or meetings may be required.

Pay Range
The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.
$115,200 - $158,400 per year
This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
