About Triton Medical Solutions
Triton Medical Solutions is a medical billing and revenue cycle management company based in Tempe, Arizona. Since 2011, we have supported practices nationwide, including dental, orofacial pain, TMJ, dental sleep medicine, and CBCT radiology providers billing medical insurance.
About the position
We are seeking an experienced Implementation Billing Specialist to lead the day-to-day medical billing work for new clients as they onboard with Triton Medical Solutions. This is a hands-on role that combines full-cycle medical insurance billing with client implementation, workflow development, training, and coordination across internal teams.
You will manage claims from submission through payment and resolution, proactively address denials and outstanding accounts receivable, identify billing issues, and help establish accurate, efficient workflows tailored to each client. You will also track implementation tasks and deadlines, guide clients through billing procedures and software, and work closely with our Implementation Manager and other departments to keep onboarding on schedule.
As clients transition into ongoing billing operations, you will ensure workflows are documented, outstanding claims and follow-up needs are clearly communicated, and responsibilities are handed off smoothly. Following appropriate training, you will also provide designated backup for routine client questions, training, and implementation follow-up.
Our recommended platform for most new clients is AdvancedMD, although some clients retain their existing EHR or practice management software. The ideal candidate is an experienced medical biller who takes ownership, works independently, stays organized across multiple clients, communicates clearly, and follows issues through to resolution.
What you will do
-
Manage full-cycle medical billing: Handle charge entry, claim submission, clearinghouse rejections, denial resolution, appeals, payer follow-up, payment posting, secondary billing, and accounts receivable management for clients during implementation.
-
Monitor claims and resolve billing issues: Review claim accuracy and billing readiness, investigate underpayments and unpaid claims, monitor aging reports and filing deadlines, reconcile ERA/EOB payments, and identify recurring issues that affect reimbursement.
-
Coordinate client implementation: Track implementation tasks, deadlines, outstanding issues, dependencies, and next steps across multiple clients. Take ownership of assigned responsibilities and communicate potential delays or barriers promptly.
-
Develop billing workflows and procedures: Establish and document client-specific billing processes, checklists, and procedures to support accurate, consistent billing and a smooth transition to ongoing operations.
-
Train and support clients: Guide clients through billing procedures, software workflows, claim requirements, and supporting documentation. Identify training needs and provide follow-up guidance.
-
Collaborate across teams: Work closely with the Implementation Manager, clients, billing operations, IT, and credentialing or contracting staff to resolve issues and keep implementation activities moving forward.
-
Provide designated backup coverage: Following appropriate training, assist with routine client updates, implementation questions, scheduled training, and follow-up coordination.
-
Prepare complete billing handoffs: Communicate open claims, accounts receivable status, denial and appeal deadlines, payer concerns, documented workflows, and unresolved tasks to the ongoing billing team.
-
Maintain accurate documentation and confidentiality: Keep implementation trackers and client records current, follow through on commitments, and handle confidential information in accordance with HIPAA requirements.
What we are looking for
-
At least five years of hands-on medical insurance billing experience, with a strong understanding of the full billing cycle from claim submission through payment posting and accounts receivable resolution.
-
Strong claims and accounts receivable expertise, including rejections, denials, appeals, payer follow-up, ERA/EOB reconciliation, secondary billing, underpayments, aging reports, and timely filing requirements.
-
Knowledge of medical insurance billing requirements, particularly commercial insurance and Medicare. The ability to research payer requirements and learn applicable Medicaid, managed care, and Medicare DME billing requirements is important.
-
Excellent organization and follow-through, with the ability to independently manage multiple client accounts, prioritize competing deadlines, maintain accurate task trackers, and resolve issues without repeated reminders.
-
Problem-solving and analytical skills, including the ability to investigate billing issues, identify root causes, recognize denial trends, recommend corrective actions, and escalate complex issues with a proposed next step.
-
Experience documenting and improving workflows, developing procedures, identifying implementation gaps, and training clients or staff on billing processes and software.
-
Strong communication and client service skills, with the ability to explain billing requirements clearly, coordinate with multiple teams, document decisions, and keep clients and coworkers informed.
-
Proficiency with billing systems and tools, including EHR or practice management systems, clearinghouses, payer portals, spreadsheets, and task-tracking software, along with the ability to learn new platforms.
