This position is responsible to provide support in the handling of all Human Resources (HR) activities for a defined group (i.e., site, region, etc.) with an emphasis on employee relations, employee engagement and retention while improving efficiencies and customer support. Coordinates, trains, and administers HR programs, processes, activities, and policies. Participates and implements HR activities programs in partnership with corporate initiatives relating to leadership development, compensation, benefits, compliance, employee relations, training, and health and safety programs.

  • Assists with providing guidance for a defined group on a variety of subjects, including anticipation and planning for changing people needs, driving engagement and supporting HR initiatives.

  • Supports compliance with state/federal employment laws, corporate HR policies, procedures, and guidelines.

  • Assists with implement of employee relations initiatives to create a positive work environment and provide consistent application in addressing employee relations issues.

  • Works to assist management in the identification of causes and providing recommended solutions for improving job satisfaction, reducing turnover, and enhancing employee morale.

  • Responsible for the maintenance and timely/accurate data entry of employment records.

  • May provide thorough and timely employee benefits orientation and enrollment to new-hires and management training to new management staff.

  • Responsible for compliance with all state and federal employment laws.

  • Acts upon and assists with the thorough and impartial investigation and resolution of reported incidents concerning workplace harassment, discrimination, and/or other alleged illegal activities by employees.

  • Provides coaching and counsel to first line managers to strengthen and develop their own leadership skills.

  • Assists with implementing and supporting company policies, procedures, and programs, and employee training to ensure consistent application and compliance with local, state and federal employment laws and HR policies.

  • Assists with preparation of terminations, ensures approvals are gained and all exit paperwork is completed.

  • May be responsible for unemployment claims administration and company representation at unemployment hearings.

  • Analyzes and assesses trends in turnover, worker’s compensation, employee grievances/ EEOC charges, and other critical HR key performance indicators in order to recommend and implement improvement measures.

  • May prepare internal employee communications.

  • Supports a union-free environment of positive employee morale, job satisfaction, and positive attitude toward management and its’ goals and objectives.

  • Proactively identifies areas through which new or additional training could improve the competency of the management team and the employee’s understanding of company benefits.

  • Proactively ascertains future employment needs and challenges through analysis of historical data, employment trends, communication and awareness of the local/regional employment climate.

  • May lead projects and perform other duties as assigned.

  • Occasional business travel may be required.

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.

  • Three (3) plus years of Human Resources experience.

  • Or equivalent combination of education and/or experience

  • ADP WorkforceNow and Vantage experience preferred.

  • Multi-state experience preferred (currently operate in NJ, NY, CT, PA, FL, WV, and MA)

  • Excellent communication, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines.

  • Solid working knowledge of local, state and federal laws to include FMLA, FLSA, OSHA, ADA, and wage and hour.

  • Possesses strong conflict resolution and mediation skills.

  • Strong interpersonal, time management, and change skills.

  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment, embraces and fosters change and problem solves.

  • Customer focused and must possess the highest integrity, discretion, and confidentiality. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and demonstrates flexibility.

  • Able to interpret HR policies.

  • Sense of urgency and delivers results.

  • Proactive problem solver, exceptional team player, excellent interpersonal skills.

  • Strong PC skills; Microsoft Office & HR system experience.

  • Strong Excel skills (Pivot Tables, Vlookups)

Salary: $62,800 - $82,100
