What You'll Do

HR Operations

  • Manage onboarding and offboarding from end to end: data entry, systems setup, coordination with IT/facilities, exit logistics

  • Maintain accurate employee data in the HRIS (Rippling); audit regularly for data integrity

  • Process employee changes (promotions, transfers, terminations) in Rippling

  • Respond to employee questions on policies, processes, and general HR matters

  • Support HR & Benefit compliance tasks (I-9s, required postings, 5500’s, EEO reports, recordkeeping)

Benefits Administration

  • Administer leave of absence programs (FMLA, state leave, ADA accommodations) from request through return-to-work, under P&E leadership direction as you build proficiency in the role

  • Support open enrollment: assist with employee communications, troubleshooting elections, and auditing files after transmission to vendors

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employee benefits questions (medical, dental, vision, 401(k), etc.)

  • Manage benefits enrollment/termination in carrier portals and reconcile against Rippling records

  • Partner with the broker/carriers on escalations and plan administration issues, escalating complex leave and benefits matters to P&E Leadership as needed

Talent Coordination & Administration (~15% of role)

  • Open and post roles in ATS (Ashby)

  • Coordinate interview scheduling and candidate communication

  • Maintain applicant tracking records and recruiting status updates

  • Support recruiter with offer letters and coordinate pre-employment and new-hire documentation

  • Initiate background checks and follow up on discrepancies

What You'll Bring

  • 2–4 years of experience in HR generalist and/or benefits administration work

  • Comfort working in an HRIS (Rippling experience a plus) and benefits carrier portals; strong attention to detail with employee data

  • Working knowledge of leave laws (FMLA, ADA, state-specific leave requirements)

  • Ability to handle sensitive, confidential information with discretion

  • Strong organizational skills and comfort managing competing priorities in a small-team environment

  • Clear, empathetic communication style. You'll be explaining benefits and policies to people who aren't HR experts

  • Comfort supporting light recruiting coordination (job postings, interview scheduling, candidate communication) alongside your core HR ops and benefits work

What Success Looks Like

  • Onboarding/offboarding runs smoothly with no dropped steps

  • Employee data in the HRIS is accurate and audit-ready

  • Leave cases are managed compliantly and with care for the employee experience

  • Open enrollment runs on schedule with minimal escalations

  • Employees trust this person as a reliable source for benefits and HR questions
