Overview:

Sentara Health Corporate Office is looking to hire a Remote HIPAA Privacy Analyst.

This is a remote position: Remote opportunities available in the following states: Virginia, North Carolina, Alabama, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Kansas, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Minnesota, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Washington (state), West Virginia, Wisconsin, Wyoming 

The HIPAA Privacy Analyst investigates potential privacy breaches and noncompliance with Sentara HIPAA policies. The analyst is responsible for implementing and administering all aspects of Sentara's Privacy policies and procedures and helping to ensure compliance with HIPAA, HITECH, Information Blocking and other federal and state mandated privacy requirements. Participates in other duties as necessary or as assigned.

- In-depth knowledge of the HIPAA Privacy and Breach Notification Rules, the HITECH Act, Information Blocking Rules and state data breach laws and regulations required.
- strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills required, with the ability to collaborate with all levels within the organization.
- Excellent customer service, analytical, and investigative skills required.
- High level of initiative, self-direction, emotional intelligence, accountability, and confidentiality required.
- Working knowledge of the HIPAA Security Rule beneficial.
-Experience in auditing, investigating and processing regulatory violations, as well as conducting investigative interviews strongly preferred

 

Education:

• Bachelor's Level Degree

 

Experience:

• 2 years minimum Privacy Analyst
• Investigative experience
• HIPAA Privacy knowledge
• HITECH Act knowledge
• Information Blocking Rules knowledge
• Knowledge of state data breach laws and regulations required
• Ability to be agile/work in a fast pace, working with case files, good detective skills/reasoning
• Prior working experience of Insurance Claims (preferred)
• Ability to triage a customer service call, confident customer service skills
• Clinical background (preferred)

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay range for full-time employment is $67,724.80 - $114,712.00 annually. Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities. Compensation within the range may vary based on qualifications, experience, location, market conditions, and business needs. Note: If an annual salary is posted, it is based on a full-time colleague working 2,080 hours annually.
