Health, Safety & Fire Risk Consultant

We're looking for a Health, Safety & Fire Risk Consultant to join our Risk Management Solutions (RMS) team. This is a consultancy role where you'll work directly with clients across a range of sectors, helping them identify risks, improve safety standards and implement practical solutions that make a real difference.

You'll spend time visiting client sites, carrying out audits, inspections and fire risk assessments, reviewing systems and procedures, and providing advice that helps organisations manage risk effectively.

This is a largely home-based role with flexibility to manage your own diary. You'll be trusted to work independently while being supported by an experienced team of specialists across the UK.

You'll partner with clients to help them understand and manage risks that affect their people, property and operations.

Your work will include:

• Conducting health & safety audits, inspections and compliance reviews.
• Completing fire risk assessments and reviewing fire safety arrangements.
• Identifying risks and evaluating existing controls.
• Providing practical recommendations that support positive change.
• Producing clear, professional reports and action plans.
• Advising clients on health & safety legislation and good practice.
• Supporting organisations to strengthen their risk management approach.
• Building trusted relationships with client stakeholders.
• Managing your own projects, workload and client appointments.
• Working closely with Gallagher colleagues to deliver an excellent client experience.

This role is about more than identifying issues. We're looking for someone who can explain risks, recommend solutions and help clients make meaningful improvements.

We're open to hearing from people with a variety of backgrounds, including consultancy, insurance, engineering, construction, manufacturing, logistics, facilities management and other operational environments.

What you'll bring:

• A NEBOSH General Certificate, Construction Certificate or equivalent health & safety qualification.
• A Level 6 qualification (such as a NEBOSH Diploma or NVQ Level 6), or be actively working towards one.
• Experience carrying out audits, inspections, site reviews or advisory work.
• Strong client-facing skills and the confidence to build relationships.
• Experience producing clear reports and communicating recommendations.
• The ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
• A practical, solution-focused approach to risk management.

It would be great if you also have:

• Fire risk assessment or fire safety consultancy experience.
• IOSH membership (TechIOSH, GradIOSH or above).
• ISO 45001 experience.
• Experience within consultancy, risk engineering or insurance environments.
• Exposure to fleet, motor or property risk management.
