AI Summary

The Head of Talent Acquisition will define and execute the company's recruiting strategy, including team development and the implementation of an AI-driven automation roadmap. They will partner with business leaders to forecast hiring needs, optimize ATS workflows, and establish evidence-based assessment standards.

StellarTech builds and publishes subscription-based EdTech mobile apps (B2C, web2web/web2app) and grows through performance marketing. We hire across Growth, Creative Marketing, Product, Design, Analytics, Engineering and Customer Care.

We are growing, and we need a leader to shape recruiting for this next stage, so we are opening the Head of Recruitment role. The goal of the role is to shape a recruiting function that supports the company’s next stage of growth. Reporting directly to Head of People, you will own recruiting strategy, team development and a practical AI and automation roadmap, and help the business make better hiring decisions.

Role responsibilities

  • Set recruiting strategy: build a 6-12-month plan covering priority capabilities, talent markets, sourcing channels, team development and improvements to the function.
  • Plan with Head of People and business leaders: translate business plans into hiring scenarios, assess capacity and feasibility, and recommend priorities, resources and spend within agreed approval limits.
  • Develop the recruiting function: define responsibilities, performance expectations and capability needs; coach the team and develop future leads.
  • Own the recruiting AI roadmap: identify high-value use cases across talent research, sourcing, communication, interview documentation and analytics; prioritize them by business value, quality, effort and risk.
  • Move from pilot to adoption: define success metrics, test workflows, assess output quality, train users and scale solutions with proven value.
  • Systems and data: improve ATS workflows, data quality and reporting; coordinate integrations with technical partners and set clear ownership of tools and data.
  • Decision-ready analytics: provide forecasts, explain hiring risks and assess source effectiveness, cost of hire, funnel performance and quality indicators with stakeholders.
  • Raise the assessment standard: establish consistent scorecards, interviewer guidance, calibration and candidate communication; keep hiring decisions owned by people and grounded in evidence.
  • Talent intelligence: build market insight and talent pipelines for Growth, Product, Analytics, Engineering and other priority areas.
  • Key searches: get involved selectively in executive or business-critical hiring where your involvement materially improves the outcome.

Requirements: critical (blockers)

  • Recruiting strategy: experience leading recruitment in a product IT company, linking business priorities to a practical function roadmap, with demonstrable results of your decisions.
  • Business understanding: experience hiring for B2C digital products and understanding of mobile apps, subscriptions and performance marketing; exposure to Growth/Marketing and another product or technical function.
  • Workforce and capacity planning: experience forecasting hiring demand, assessing team capacity and proposing resource or budget options with explicit assumptions and trade-offs.
  • Practical AI implementation: experience taking at least one recurring recruiting workflow from problem definition and pilot to team adoption, with evidence of value and quality controls. Coding integrations yourself is not required.
  • Leadership and change management: a record of developing recruiters, clarifying responsibilities and getting a team to adopt new practices successfully.
  • Senior stakeholder partnership: the ability to work with People and business leaders, challenge assumptions constructively and turn market evidence into hiring-priority decisions.
  • Analytics and systems thinking: the ability to connect data quality, workflow design, funnel performance and costs to management decisions, and to explain what the data can and cannot tell you.
  • Assessment governance: experience establishing evidence-based evaluation, useful interview feedback, consistent calibration and clear decision ownership.
  • English: strong enough to discuss strategy, present recommendations and run international hiring conversations independently (B2+ as a reference point).

Nice to have: non-critical

  • Direct experience in mobile B2C subscription, EdTech, wellness or lifestyle products and web2web/web2app businesses.
  • Building or substantially rebuilding a recruiting function during product or company growth.
  • Implementing ATS integrations, no-code/low-code workflows, recruiting dashboards or reusable AI-assisted processes.
  • Executive search, expansion into new talent markets and long-term talent community building.
