Key Responsibilities
Training & Learning
• Participate in structured technical training programs on industrial automation, PLCs, HMI/SCADA systems, and instrumentation engineering.
• Learn industry-standard automation software such as Studio 5000, FactoryTalk View, TIA Portal, WinCC, and similar automation platforms.
• Understand project workflows, automation standards, and engineering best practices.
• Learn control system architecture, instrumentation fundamentals, and process control concepts related to water and wastewater treatment facilities.
• Support the preparation of engineering documents such as I/O lists, control narratives, network architecture drawings, instrument lists, and wiring diagrams.
Project Support
• Assist senior engineers in PLC programming and HMI/SCADA application development.
• Support the preparation and review of automation design documents and project deliverables.
• Participate in control panel design reviews and automation system testing activities.
• Learn to read and interpret P&IDs, control schematics, network drawings, and instrument data sheets.
• Support Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), and commissioning activities under supervision.
• Assist in system validation, troubleshooting, and issue resolution during project execution.
Instrumentation & Controls Engineering
• Assist in the development and testing of PLC logic and HMI/SCADA applications.
• Gain exposure to industrial automation platforms including Allen-Bradley and Siemens control systems.
• Learn about field instruments such as flow meters, pressure transmitters, level transmitters, analyzers, and control valves.
• Support configuration and testing of industrial communication protocols such as Ethernet/IP, Modbus TCP/IP, Profinet, and OPC.
• Assist in troubleshooting automation systems, PLCs, HMIs, communication networks, and field instrumentation.
• Support compliance with applicable automation, instrumentation, and safety standards.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
• Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, process, and project teams to understand complete system integration.
• Participate in project meetings, design reviews, and technical discussions with global engineering teams.
• Maintain project documentation, reports, and engineering records.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and knowledge-sharing activities within the team.
Skills & Qualifications
Must-Have
• Bachelor's Degree (B.E./B.Tech.) in Instrumentation & Control Engineering, Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related discipline (2026 or recent pass-out).
• Basic understanding of instrumentation engineering fundamentals, industrial automation, and control systems.
• Familiarity with PLCs, HMI/SCADA systems, and control system architecture.
• Basic understanding of field instrumentation, sensors, transmitters, and control valves.
• Familiarity with P&IDs, instrument loop concepts, and industrial communication networks.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and engineering practices.
• Good communication skills in English and a collaborative mindset.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Self-motivated with a proactive approach to learning.
Good to Have
• Internship or academic project experience in industrial automation, instrumentation, or control systems.
• Exposure to Studio 5000, FactoryTalk View, TIA Portal, WinCC, or similar automation software.
• Basic understanding of PLC programming, HMI development, and SCADA systems.
• Familiarity with communication protocols such as Ethernet/IP, Modbus, Profinet, or OPC.
• Basic understanding of water and wastewater treatment processes.
• Knowledge of industrial control panels and automation system architecture.
• Ability to prepare or interpret P&IDs, I/O lists, network architecture drawings, and instrumentation documentation.
