The Franchise Strategy Director is a senior operational role responsible for designing, implementing, and sustaining Jovie's management system—the integrated cadences, tools, metrics, and processes that translate strategy into measurable execution across the franchise network. This role serves as a core member of the leadership team, working directly with the Brand President to drive organizational performance, operational consistency, and strategic growth within Bright Horizons. The ideal candidate combines expertise in management systems and operational improvement with the ability to lead cross-functional initiatives in a franchise environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with the Brand President to translate annual strategy into a prioritized portfolio of breakthrough initiatives with defined KPIs, owners, and milestones.

  • Lead cross-functional initiative teams from proposal through execution using Kaizen events and rapid-cycle improvement methods.

  • Own and continuously improve Jovie’s management cadence: monthly Operations Reviews, weekly Pulse Meetings, and quarterly strategic planning cycles.

  • Design and maintain performance tools including scorecards, dashboards, flash reports, and initiative trackers.

  • Connect operational execution to financial outcomes through business planning playbooks, metrics frameworks, and revenue modeling.

  • Work with the Franchise Support Consultants (FSC) team to track and evaluate franchisee performance across key revenue drivers, providing ongoing support, direction, and coaching to maximize revenue generation and Back-Up Care (BUC) fill rates.

  • Drive business development strategy for geographic expansion, including identifying and evaluating new territories for franchise growth and determining where existing geographies require reinforcement through additional franchisee sales or operational investment.

  • Conduct competitive and pricing research to inform market-level revenue strategy and ensure franchisee pricing remains competitive and margin-optimized.

  • Drive Jovie's AI strategy: identify high-impact workflows, apply AI to accelerate execution, and deliver turnkey solutions to franchisees.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • 10 years of experience in operations management, P&L responsibility, or business process improvement

  • At this time, Bright Horizons will not sponsor an applicant for employment authorization/visa for this position.

  • Demonstrated success designing and implementing management systems, operating cadences, or continuous improvement programs.

  • Experience leading cross-functional initiatives from concept through measurable results.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to build scorecards, financial models, and performance frameworks.

  • Excellent facilitation and communication skills; comfortable presenting to senior leadership.

  • Proficiency in building and documenting standardized processes (playbooks, SOPs, training materials).

  • Experience in franchise, multi-unit, or distributed operating environments.

  • Familiarity with Lean, Kaizen, or other structured improvement methodologies.

  • Background in childcare, home services, staffing, or related industries.

  • Experience developing AI or technology enablement strategies in an operational context.
