FP&A and Strategic Finance Lead

Based in London and reporting directly to the CFO, you will own FP&A and strategic finance across the business. You will shape and develop a scalable FP&A function and create a robust source of truth for historic performance drivers and forecasts. You will be driving financial budgeting and performance analysis, support strategic initiatives across all functions, and help drive decision-making through robust planning, insight and proactive business partnering. 

This is a hands-on role in a fast-growing deeptech company, requiring someone who is comfortable operating with pace, ambiguity and shifting priorities.

This is initially an individual contributor role with significant visibility across the leadership team, but is expected to evolve into a leadership position.

Key Responsibilities

• Build scalable FP&A processes and systems to support the next stage of growth including tech stack, automation and AI
• Create and maintain a reliable source of truth for company KPIs and business drivers
• Own the annual budgeting and planning process
• Lead reforecasting and long-range planning
• Own cash flow forecasting, working capital planning and liquidity management across the business
• Deliver performance and KPI reporting and variance analysis

• Act as strategic finance partner to the CFO and leadership team
• Pro-active business partnering, driving cross-functional strategic projects across engineering, operations, supply chain and commercial teams

• Prepare board and investor reporting materials
• Support fundraising activities, investor requests and due diligence processes

• Establish finance as a trusted partner throughout the organisation

Ideal Background

• 5-10+ years of experience across FP&A, strategic finance, corporate finance, investment banking, consulting or similar analytical roles; multiple years of company experience are a requirement
• Experience in a high-growth technology business, ideally deeptech, robotics, aerospace, autonomous systems, advanced manufacturing or related sectors
• Strong understanding of manufacturing economics, working capital management, inventory dynamics and cash flow requirements
• Experience operating in businesses with significant cash and working capital requirements
• Experience supporting a scale-up environment with changing priorities and significant growth ambitions
• Strong financial modelling skills and advanced Excel capability
• System-thinker with hands-on experience with FP&A tech stack. Ideal candidate has been involved in selection and implementation of tools and systems
• Strong commercial mindset with ability to influence senior stakeholders
